2022 College Football Week 2 Picks

2022 College Football Picks

We've had our Week 1 appetizer for the 2022 College Football season and now it's time to bring you Week 2 Picks.

Week 1 Picks finished 3-3, but it could have been easily 5-1 had App St converted their 2-point conversion and Utah had not thrown a pick in the endzone. We had closing line value in virtually every game and as long as we continue to get ahead of the lines, we will be profitable in the long term.

The key to getting ahead of the lines is to have power ratings where you can set your own predictions. Take a look at five teams you need to upgrade/downgrade immediately, over on my personal website.

At first glance, the Week 2 slate may lack marquee matchups, but upon further investigation, there are going to be some fun games to watch:

  • #9 Baylor heads to Provo to take on #25 BYU
  • Iowa St and Iowa battle for the Cyhawk Trophy in Iowa City
  • Kentucky and Anthony Richardson's #15 ranked Gators battle in The Swamp
  • Tennessee travels to the Steel City to take on the #19 Pitt Panthers
  • Lord Saban's #1 Crimson Tide take on the Longhorns in Austin

Make sure you read all of my Power Five Conference previews and betting guide as well!

Syracuse @ UConn

Sean Tucker is ok. Thankfully. After an injury scare Orange fans can take a deep breath. Their star RB is primed and ready to take on UConn after an impressive showing against Louisville. Syracuse fans have something to be excited about here. Not only should Tucker have an outstanding season, but QB Garrett Shrader looked dominant as well. He's a true dual threat guy and he's here to cause havoc. The fact that he is improving his passing game is only going to open up more rushing lanes as defenses can't continually stack the box against Tucker.

This is not the same case for UConn's RB Nathan Carter. With star QB and Penn St transfer Ta'quan Roberson now out, UConn's resurgence may need to wait. UConn doesn't have much behind Roberson and this means Syracuse is going to give Carter, a very solid RB, the same treatment Tucker has received the past couple of years, with what looks to be a surprisingly good defense. I'm a big fan of the Huskies resurgence this year, but unfortunately, this Roberson injury is too big of a setback.

Tucker is going over 150. Shrader is going to dominate with his arm and legs. Syracuse is going to hit home runs. The market would agree with me, as this line has moved up to 22.5 from 20.5. I have Syracuse winning by 28.

The Pick: Take Cuse -22.5
