2022 Fantasy Football Week 1 Drop List

Welcome to the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 1 Drop List.

This article will highlight players that can be (safely) dropped.

First off, don't be ashamed of dropping a player underperforming. Secondly, scour the waiver wire because you never know what you can find there. Lastly, you can find a valuable fantasy asset.

YOU will not have a perfect draft. Please, for the love of god, don't be afraid to make some moves.

Without further ado, welcome to the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 1 Drop List.

*Roster %'s will be coming from ESPN*

Former "Star" Still Missing

Kenny Golladay, WR, New York Giants (38%)

The "Ghost" of Kenny Golladay is still roaming around, albeit sparingly. The Giants did pull out a win, but Golladay didn't provide much. His final stat line: 2/2-22 (11 avg). Mr. Golladay was 4th on the team in targets, even with him having the second highest snap % (77). As you can see, Kenny Golladay is struggling to be a fantasy asset.

It's worth mentioning that Kadarius Toney (reasons unknown), and WanDale Robinson (injury) barely saw the field. The former (12%), and the latter only (15%). Expect Toney's snap % to go up (2 touches for 23 yards). As for WanDale Robinson, we will have to see how the knee injury shakes out.

It's fair to say that Kenny Golladay can be dropped. I would rather see Robbie Anderson (37.5 %), Mecole Hardman (34.8 %), and Isaiah McKenzie (16.7%) on your fantasy teams.

Russell Gage, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (62.2%)

Coming into the season there was a decent amount of hype surrounding Russell Gage. Unfortunately, he has been dealing with injuries. If this continues, Russell Gage can see himself falling down the pecking order even more.

Among team targets, Gage was 6th with two. His final stat line was 2/2-13 (6.5 avg). Russell Gage was also tied for 6th on the team with a 42% snap percentage.

You can chalk it up to him being banged up. Even if that's the case, Julio Jones (52%) seems to have surpassed him.

Speaking of Julio Jones (43.4%; 5/3-69), he is rostered lower than Gage. Fix that. Jahan Dotson (56.%; 5/3-40-1), Robbie Anderson (37.5%; 8/5-102-1), and even Jarvis Landry (57.7%; 9/7-114) should be rostered before him.

Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins (76.4%)

WHAT A NIGHTMARE. On Sunday, Mike Gesicki was targeted one time and caught that target for one yard.

One's are running wild here.

Gesicki was tied for 6th in snap % (42%), which makes things worse for him. This was behind Durham Smythe (63%; 2/1-14). In terms of the target pecking order, Mike Gesicki finds himself down the barrel.

Please drop him. Think about rostering Tyler Higbee (49.8%; 11/5-39) instead.

Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins (62.6%)

Raheem Mostert finished with five rushes for 16 yards. He also caught his lone target for 16 yards. Chase Edmonds (63%) out-snapped Mostert (42%), out-rushed (12 to 5), and out-targeted (4 to 1) him as well. I expect this to continue throughout the season.

Just to name a few, the RBs I would rather have is Darrell Henderson (45.8%; 13-47), Isiah Pacheco (17.7%; 12-62-1)), and even Kahlil Herbert (24.8%; 9-45-1).

These RBs have a clear-cut role, a larger workload, or are just more talented. So please pick up one of these players.

I hope the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 1 Drop List helped you figure out some difficult decisions.
