2022 Fantasy Football Targets and Touches Trends Through Week 6

Welcome to the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 12 Drop List.

The trade deadline is right around the corner, along with the playoffs. You know what that means, right?

Time to drop the dead weight. Now is the perfect time to get your team into the best shape possible. Please start thinking about the future. Stashing players is a MUST, same with finding juicy matchups for your starting defense.

*Keep this in mind. Week 14 (first round of playoffs for most), will have a few teams on bye. Make sure you have a plan for this.

Two Weeks In A Row

For the second week in a row, a running back gets cut as I'm writing this.

Melvin Gordon, RB, Free Agent (65.1%)

In surprising news, Melvin Gordon was cut by the Broncos today. On Sunday, Gordon was formidable (8-31; 5/5-39). Although, he did fumble at the goal line.

Is this why MG3 was cut? He has fumbled five times now, so I believe this is the main reason.

Melvin Gordon could get signed somewhere, but I don't see him making a big enough impact if that happens. With this being said, cut your losses with Melvin Gordon and send him to the waiver wire.

Find a stash player or a juicy defensive matchup. Isaiah Pacheco is currently rostered in under 50% of leagues, hopefully, you can snag him.

Slight Cheat

You can say I'm cheating here because he is injured. Even without the injury, this guy is starting to get phased out of the lineup.

Drop him now.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs (71.6%)

Kansas City has phased CEH out of the lineup. Since the bye week, his snap percentage has gone from 27% to 8%. It's worth mentioning that Helaire hasn't topped 10+ fantasy points since Week 4.

Let me just throw some other alarming stats out to you.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire has gone over 10 carries just once. As for the total opportunity, CEH had one game over 20 touches (Week 4). He also has only seen 10+ TOUCHES, 5 times (average of 15.8). That was all done in the first five games.

Since then, he is getting a measly 5.2 touches per game.

This is the Pacheco and McKinnon backfield now. Drop CEH.

Chase Claypool, WR, Chicago Bears (64.2%)

Since joining the Bears (3 games), Chase Claypool has caught five of 11 targets. He has yet to go over three fantasy points. Yes! You read that correctly.

With the Steelers, Claypool was averaging an 86.5% snap percentage. Now that he has joined the Bears, that number has tumbled all the way down to 36%.

Make no mistake about it, this is a run-first offense. The only receivers you want from this team are Darnell Mooney (year + connection) and Cole Kmet (same as Mooney). All the other receivers are just after-thoughts, this includes Chase Claypool.

Get rid of him.

There are a ton of great stash options to get instead. Just to name a few: Jameson Williams, Deshaun Watson, Odell Beckham, and even Kyren Williams.

That should do it for the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 12 Drop List.
