2022 Fantasy Football Week 13 IDP Waiver Wire

Welcome to my 2022 Fantasy Football Week 13 IDP Waiver Wire column!

Pretty nice week we had, beginning with some Thursday games where favorite teams had to come from behind to take the win, such as the Buffalo Bills took down the Lions at Detroit, and the Dallas Cowboys recover from a 13-7 score at the half to won against the New York Giants.

On Sunday, three underdogs fight until the end and won at the last second, as the Jaguars did. Some teams took it the all the way scoring a touchdown at overtime, as the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders won.  Great games we had.

So—let´s get started. I will be using Yahoo scoring format of one point for a solo tackle, tackle for a loss, or a pass defended. Also: half a point for tackle assists, and two points for a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a safety or a blocked kick. This scoring format also awards three points for an interception and six for a touchdown.

All roster percentages are also based on Yahoo leagues and I´ll be recommending players 20% rostered or less.

Week 12 Stats: 3 Solo tackles, 3 assists, 2 TFL and 1 pass defended

Daron Payne, has been a source of consistency over the last 5 games, and with Chase Young coming back (we don't know if this week or next), there will be more opportunity to make impact plays, so this Commanders defensive line of is going to be a nightmare, and Payne is already a part of them.

In the last five games, this first round draft pick in 2018, has had 12 solo tackles, 11 assists, eight TFL, three sacks, two passes defended and one fumble recovery. This week he goes against the New York Giants who have allowed the second highest amount of fantasy points to DLs in the season. After their visit to the Giants, Washington has a bye week, so be aware.

Check this key play he had to win the game for Washington:

Leonard Williams, DE, New York Giants (6% Rostered)

Week 12 Stats: 5 Solo tackles, 1 assist and 1 TFL

Leonard Williams suffered a knee injury in week two against the Panthers, missed the next three weeks and has slowly returned to health. In the last 4 games he has 17 solo tackles, ten assists, three TFL, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble and this week he faces the Washington Commanders, who this season are the fourth team that has allowed the DL the most fantasy points.

Check him out on this tackle for a loss against Ezekiel Elliott:

Kaden Elliss, LB, New Orleans Saints (4% Rostered)

Week 12 Stats: 12 Solo tackles and 2 assists

Kaden Elliss has been a top 10 LB since he was given the opportunity to play after Pete Werner's injury in week 9. During these 4 weeks he has 25 solo tackles, 13 assists, 2 TFL, 3.5 sacks, a pass defended and a fumble forced.

Obviously, there is a risk that Werner will return and may be changes in the defense, but he had ankle surgery about two weeks ago and was ruled out for Week 12 since Friday, so it is a sign that he is not very close to play.

The Saints visit the Buccaneers in week 13, who have allowed a solid number of solo tackles against LB over the past three weeks, first vs Rams, Bobby Wagner (eight) and Ernest Jones (six), then vs Seahawks, Jordyn Brooks (eleven) and Cody Barton (eight) and last, against the Cleveland Browns, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (six).

Elliss is a great pass rusher. Check his quickness:

Kyle Dugger, S, New England Patriots (3% Rostered)

Week 12 Stats: 8 Solo tackles and 1 assist

Apparently Dugger has had a hard time staying on the field, mainly due to health issues. In Week 2, he had a knee problem causing him to miss Week 3, and then he missed Week 8 with an ankle issue.

But since the bye, in Week 10, he has put up a couple of very good games, first against the NY Jets: four solo tackles, three assists, two TFL, a sack and a pass defended. Then against the Minnesota Vikings with eight solo tackles and an assist.

This week New England receive the Buffalo Bills and then visit Arizona, these teams allowed the eight, and the second, highest amount of fantasy points to Defensive Backs over the last five weeks. When healthy, he is great:
