2022 Fantasy Football Injury Impact

Welcome to the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 13 Injury Impact article.

Week 13 was chaotic. The Bengals/Chiefs battled till the very end, the Jets gave Minnesota quite the scare, and we were blessed with another tie in 2022 (Commanders/Giants).

Now we move onto the injury front. This was another rough week for us. The fantasy world lost a QB for the season, another one for a few weeks, and many other injuries we must monitor. To get all the details, continue reading the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 13 Injury Impact article.

QBs Down Bad

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, San Francisco 49ers - Broken Foot (Out For Season)

Garoppolo will miss the rest of the season with a broken foot. In his place, Brock Purdy (25/37 -210 -2-1) will be starting. This is a slight downgrade to the offense, obviously.

The pass catchers will get their targets (Deebo: 10/6-58), and Aiyuk: 9/5-46) but they will have a low ADOT for the rest of the year. Deebo Samuel is a low-end WR2, while Brandon Aiyuk is a low-end WR3/flex option. George Kittle should be rostered, but not started just yet.

The big winner of this injury is Christian McCaffrey (10/8-80-1). He should see a ton of targets and still get a lot of work on the ground. Just a week after saying the 49ers might become a pass-first team, Jimmy gets hurt. This makes it a certainty that they will go back to being a rush-first team.

Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens - Knee Sprain (1 + Weeks)

This one could've been bad for fantasy players. Lamar Jackson was ruled out of Sunday's game with a knee sprain. The hope is that Lamar Jackson will be healthy for fantasy playoffs, if not, some people can be in trouble.

Tyler Huntley (27/32 -187 - 0- 1) will be the signal-caller for a few weeks. Huntley also added 41 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He should be left on the waiver wire. Even with Lamar at the helm, this Ravens' offense has been rough lately.

If Lamar misses time, the only player I would start would be Andrews (reluctantly).

Injuries To Monitor

Kenneth Walker, RB, Seattle Seahawks - Ankle

Walker was only able to touch the ball three times for 36 yards. As of right now, the severity is not known at this time. We are hoping for a low-ankle sprain instead of the high-ankle sprain. If it's a low-ankle sprain, expect him to be back for the next game.

If it's high-ankle, I expect a week or two missed for Kenneth Walker. With this being said, you don't want any of the RBs from this team.

Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins - Ankle

Tagovailoa injured his ankle on Sunday, but the severity of the injury is unknown.

We will know more during the week, please make sure you have a backup plan in place at QB though. I do expect him to be able to go.

If he does not play, Skyler Thompson or Teddy Bridgewater would be the starter. We have seen how this offense has played with them, it's not great. You still have to start Hill and Waddle with any QB though.

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars - Knee

Somehow, Trevor Lawrence (17/31 - 179 - 1- 0) avoided a major injury to his knee. It didn't look good.

As of right now, the severity of his injury is unknown. He must be monitored moving forward. This is crazy to say, but I expect him to be ready for their next game. If T-Law can't go, C.J. Beathard (2/3-6) would be the signal caller.

Leave him on the wire.

Other Injury News

Courtland Sutton, WR, Denver Broncos - Hamstring

Sutton (1/0-0) was non-existent on Sunday. This is because he went down with a hamstring injury. The severity of this injury is unknown at the time, so it must be monitored.

My best guess would be to expect him to miss a week or two, at least. With that being said, Jerry Jeudy (4/4-65) will be the main WR option. He is nothing more than a flex player on this offense.

Another person to look out for is Greg Dulcich (8/6-85). After a few down weeks, he came back to life and dropped 14 fantasy points (TE1 right now).

Treylon Burks, WR, Tennessee Titans - Concussion

Burks has exploded onto the scene. He was WR13 (Week 11), a WR18 (Week 12), and was on his way to another fine outing in Week 13 (1/1-25-1). This was until tragedy struck.

On his TD catch, Burks was hit in the head and was diagnosed with a concussion. With the way concussions are, I expect Burks to miss a week. There is no one you want to start on this Titans team, except Derrick Henry.

Hayden Hurst, TE, Cincinnati Bengals - Calf

Hurst (3/2-12) was ruled out of Sunday's game with a calf injury. The impact of this injury is pretty low. I don't expect Hurst to miss time with this, just make sure you have a backup plan in place.
