The Fantasy Football playoffs are just a week away in the majority of leagues. With troubling injuries swirling around the National Football League, there is a lot to talk about in the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 14 Waiver Wire column.
This article will look at some of the best available players on the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 14 Waiver Wire. If you do not already, feel free to follow me on Twitter (@HermsNFL).
Let's look at some of the best waiver wire pickups ahead of NFL Week 14.
2022 Fantasy Football Week 14 Waiver Wire
Top Waiver Adds
Zonovan "Bam" Knight, RB, New York Jets (47% rostered Yahoo / 39.3% rostered ESPN)
After picking up the slack for the injured Michael Carter in Week 12, the undrafted rookie out of N.C. State had another tremendous day against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Over the last pair of weeks, Knight now finds himself as the RB16 overall in PPR scoring, according to FantasyPros. Even if Michael Carter does find his way into the lineup again soon, Knight has earned a good opportunity to continue staying involved in the Jets' offense.
226 scrimmage yards in your first two NFL games is nothing to scoff at, folks. Though Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills is a suboptimal matchup, the Jets' schedule is much friendlier for the Fantasy Playoffs - Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, at Seattle Seahawks. Consider the talented rookie if you need some RB help.
James Cook, RB, Buffalo Bills (24% rostered Yahoo / 25.3% rostered ESPN)
Speaking of talented rookie running backs, Cook has seen greater involvement in the Buffalo offense lately. 20 touches against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football translated to a top-12 RB performance in Week 13 and should leave fantasy managers encouraged for Cook's usage in this high-powered offense moving forward.
While there is no guarantee that Bills' starting running back Devin Singletary will completely vanish and relinquish the lead role to Cook, it is absolutely worth rostering Cook at a minimum. If nothing else, we've seen Cook can be"the guy" in this offense. Continue to monitor this situation with Cook on your bench.
DeeJay Dallas, RB, Seattle Seahawks (4% rostered Yahoo / 0.6% rostered ESPN)
While Dallas himself is not a rookie, this suggestion does also tie into the 2022 draft class. Ken Walker III exited Sunday's contest against the Los Angeles Rams with an ankle injury and could miss some time. In Walker III's absence, Dallas assumed the lead role, logging ten carries before leaving with an injury of his own.
All indications as of this writing are that Dallas is likely going to be fine, and as such, he stands to benefit the most and figures to be the logical candidate to be the lead back of the Seahawks in Walker III's absence. Travis Homer could also be a decent option should managers miss out on Dallas, as Homer could potentially work into a pass-catching role, though I would feel better about Dallas.
Mack Hollins, WR, Las Vegas Raiders (31% rostered Yahoo / 19.9% rostered ESPN)
Though Hollins has been an inconsistent contributor to the Raiders' offense, 29 targets over the last four weeks should stand out to managers looking for wide receivers. It is evident that Derek Carr is at least looking Hollins' way often, and being the WR40 overall in PPR since Week 10 isn't exactly like... that bad.
With a relatively decent upcoming schedule, fantasy managers seeking depth on the waiver wire can certainly consider Hollins as a viable option in a pinch.
Corey Davis, WR, New York Jets (13% rostered Yahoo / 11.3% rostered ESPN)
Through the first four weeks of this season, Davis was the WR26 overall in PPR. Between Zach Wilson's poor quarterbacking and Davis' injuries that kept him sidelined for several weeks, it took time for the veteran wideout to work his way back into relevancy.
Week 13 saw Davis finish within the Top 30 and secure ten targets from Mike White against the Minnesota Vikings. Even dating back to last season, Davis is much better when a QB besides Zach Wilson is in the lineup, and this past game against the Vikings further highlights this fact. Give Davis a look in your leagues in hopes that this trend continues.
