Welcome to my 2022 Fantasy Football Week 6 IDP Waiver Wire!

After five weeks fantasy football managers are going to have to contend with not only injuries but bye weeks. Having reliable options to fill in for starters can be the difference between a playoff run or a losing streak.

Before looking at some potential IDP waiver wire adds let’s look back at some of my recommendations from last week. I will be using Fantasy Pros default IDP scoring format when calculating fantasy points scored by a player and Yahoo when discussing a player’s rostered percentage.

DeShon Elliot from the Detroit Lions was the primary defensive back I recommended last week. He validated my faith by putting up huge numbers against the Patriots. With 12 total tackles, two tackles for loss, an interception, and a pass defended. He finished as the number one overall IDP player according to Fantasy Pros. The Lion’s defense is not good, Elliott will have plenty of opportunities to put up numbers. He’s only rostered in 5% of leagues right now.

Drue Tranquill was coming off back-to-back weeks of IDP relevance. He had a quiet game against the Browns with only six total tackles. While his upside is capped due to his lack of big plays, he has had at least six tackles every week. If you need to fill in for a star linebacker due to a bye or injury Tranquill comes with a very safe floor. He is available in 89% of leagues.

Week 5 Stats: 15 TOT, 2.5 TFL

Similar to the aforementioned Drue Tranquill, Cole Holcomb’s value lies in a relatively safe floor. For the season he is ranked as the 30th overall linebacker in IDP formats. He has zero sacks, forced or recovered fumbles or interceptions. Yet, if you are in need of 10 fantasy points, Holcomb is your guy.

He has played 100% of the Commanders defensive snaps on the season. His 64 overall player grade on Pro Football Focus is rather fitting for his fantasy outlook. He has never exceeded three sacks in a season. Yet, he is close to surpassing his career high in tackles for a loss already. Last season he was a top fifteen linebacker with 142 total tackles. He is currently on pace for close to 160 total tackles. Not to mention he is rocking an awesome mullet.
