Welcome Fantasy nerds! It is that time again to start setting your lineups for the week, and I'm here to help with the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 6 Start/Sit article.

In the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 6 Start/Sit article, I will be giving you a start and a sit at each position. I'll be here every week trying to help by giving you a few deeper guys to start, and a few guys who the consensus believes should be in your lineup that week, but whom I disagree with.

Last week we had a crazy week and this week probably wont be any different, especially with Bye weeks starting. The Tennesse Titans, Detroit Lions, Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans all are on bye.

Geno Smith, QB, Seattle Seahawks (ECR QB10)

Looks like the consensus agrees with me here that Geno Smith needs to be started in this matchup this weekend, and maybe moving forward. So far the journeyman quarterback has been really good so far on the season. Through the first four weeks Geno is currently QB7 with just under 20 points per game.

Not only has Smith looked good as a fantasy option but he looks like a very capable quarterback if you have weapons around him, as the Seahawks have. Smith is top-ten in the league in deep ball attempts, air yards, and yards per attempt according to playerprofiler.com.

The Matchup

If Geno hasn't earned your trust yet, he will after this matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Through the first four weeks the Cardinals are in the top 10 in fantasy points allowed to the position, yards allowed, and touchdowns allowed to quarterbacks. Geno Smith should be started this week and I am starting him over the likes of Matthew Stafford this week.

Eno Benjamin, RB, Arizona Cardinals (ECR RB26)

Eno Benjamin has been a solid player for the Arizona Cardinals to start the year. He only has a snap share of just under 26%, but when he has been on the field he has been effective. In the five games so far, he has seen at least four targets in four of those games, and he played a season-high 37 snaps last week.

We have seen Benjamin be a solid contributor in the passing game. This week we may get to see him get the three-down workload with James Conner dealing with a rib injury and Darrell Williams dealing with a knee injury. If both of those guys miss this game, the sky's the limit for Benjamin this week. Even if Conner can play a little Benjamin should get a lot of work to still warrant a high-end RB3 this week.

The Matchup

We talked about this matchup from a Seahawks point of view, but now let's check the Cardinals point of view. The Seahawks defense has struggled to start this season. The Seahawks have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to the running back position, and the fifth-most receptions to running backs. Start Benjamin this week, and feel solid about it.

Alec Pierce, WR, Indianapolis Colts (ECR WR44)

I think it is time we start paying attention to what Alec Pierce is doing for the Indianapolis Colts. The last few weeks while the offense has struggled as a whole, Pierce has been solid. Pierce has a 18.5 target share which is second on the Colts only to Michal Pittman who has a 21% share.

In the last three weeks, the rookie has seen at least five targets in each game. He also got over 80 yards in both of those games and finished with over 10 half-point PPR fantasy in the last two games.

The Matchup

The matchup for Alec Pierce and the Colts is a solid one for this offense against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately, Pierce missed the last meeting in Week 1. However, the Jags have allowed the fourth-most touchdowns to wide receivers this season. Pierce is due to score a touchdown, and it could very well happen this weekend.

Hayden Hurst, TE, Cincinnati Bengals (ECR TE9)

Once you get out of the top-5 tight ends of fantasy this season it gets pretty ugly quick. If you have streamed Hayden Hurst over the past few weeks, you have been pleasantly surprised with the production he has given you. Hurst has been a top-five tight end over that span averaging 12.3 fantasy points per game.

Hayden Hurst is currently TE12 on the season and looks like he has a decent role in the offense. Hurst has run the seventh most routes out of all the tight ends. He also lines up in the slot almost 20% of the time and has the fifth most red zone targets as well.

The Matchup

The matchup for Hurst and the Bengals isn't an easy one against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints have allowed the fourth-fewest Fantasy Points to the position so far this season. I am just banking on Tee Higgins being banged up, and Hurst seeing more targets similar to the last game.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams (ECR QB13)

If there has been one offense in the NFL that has disappointed the most this season, it's the Rams. The Rams have scored fewer points this season than the Chicago Bears who have been the butt of every offensive joke this season. Matthew Stafford has been a part of the problem so far this season.

Stafford so far this season through five games is QB23 Ryan Tannehill and Matt Ryan. He is only averaging just over 12 fantasy points per game, and he seems to be locking on Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee. Allen Robinson has been pretty nonexistent as well.

It's not all Stafford's fault, the Rams offensive line has been horrible. Stafford has been sacked 20 times already this season. He was sacked only 30 times all last season.

The Matchup

The Rams will be taking on the Carolina Panthers, who fired their coach earlier this week. They are also without their QB Baker Mayfield, so the Rams defense might do most of the work this weekend. The Panthers are middle-of-the-road against opposing quarterbacks. I just don't think the volume will be there for Stafford this week, and this should be an ugly win for the Rams.

Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers (ECR RB20)

I cannot believe we are here, but we are. It is time to sit Najee Harris on your benches for the time being. Harris has shown you nothing over the last few games to give you a reason to start him. His foot still might be a problem, an injury he suffered in training camp. The Steelers offensive line hasn't done him in favors, either ranking near the bottom of the league.

The Steelers offense has been bad in general this year, and Najee hasn't helped a ton. Harris is only averaging 3.5 yards per touch, which ranks 55th in the league according to playerprofiler.com. Also, the thing that kept Harris going last year was the passing game work in which he led the league in receptions by a running back. This season, he ranks just 24th in targets at the position, just not near enough volume in a bad offense.

The Matchup

It is just a horrible matchup for the struggling Pittsburgh offense going up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have been a top-run defense since last year, and not much has changed. The Bucs have given up the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs. It's the perfect time to sit Harris this week. I would start Devin Singletary and James Robinson over Harris this week.

DJ Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers (ECR WR35)

Embed from Getty Images
It has been a terrible start to the season for DJ Moore and the Carolina Panthers. They just fired their head coach Matt Rhule this week, and they will be without their quarterback Baker Mayfield this week. PJ Walker will be starting this week, with Steve Wilks coaching the team.

I have just lost faith in DJ Moore, and now that he has a backup quarterback throwing him the football, I am completely out. Moore is currently WR47 this season and he is averaging 7.6 fantasy points per game this season. Bad offense, and bad quarterback play. I am out. I would rather start Will Dissly and Hayden Hurst.

The Matchup

The matchup for the Panthers is a brutal one against the Los Angeles Rams. DJ Moore will get a lot of Jalen Ramsey on him in coverage which isn't ideal. The Rams defensive line should be able to put pressure on Walker as well and make offense tough for Carolina this weekend. Stay away from Moore this week.

Taysom Hill, TE, New Orleans Saints (ECR TE10)

Embed from Getty Images

I cannot believe we are at this point again where we are talking about Taysom Hill as a top-ten tight end again, but here we are. Hill is currently a top-five tight end on the season on the back of incredible efficiency. Hill has six total touchdowns through five games this season five on the ground and one through the air.

If you had to start Hill last week he probably won you your week, congrats, It will not happen again. I can't imagine many people started him last week, however, and he scored 34 fantasy points on just 30% of the snaps last week. Do not chase last weeks points.

The Matchup

The Matchup doesn't really matter for Hill considering he isn't really a tight end. But the Saints are taking on the Bengals this week. Hill gets most of his points from scoring rushing touchdowns, and the Saints have only allowed two rushing touchdowns this season.
