2022 Fantasy Football Week 7 Waiver Wire

I won't lie to you, folks. If you're looking for significant help on the waiver wire this week, this is not your week. That said, there is always a little value to be found if you look hard enough. Fret not!

This article will look at some of the best available players on the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 7 Waiver Wire. If you do not already, feel free to follow me on Twitter (@HermsNFL).

Unfortunately, I was sick for the majority of last week and did not get to publish a waiver wire stashes article, a weekly series published on Saturdays. But in the future, make sure you always check that out to get ahead of the curve. But for now, let's look at some of the best waiver wire pickups ahead of NFL Week 7.

2022 Fantasy Football Week 7 Waiver Wire

Here is the video version of this article if you would rather watch that.

Top Waiver Adds

Latavius Murray, RB, Denver Broncos (15% rostered Yahoo / 7.5% rostered ESPN)
Mike Boone, RB, Denver Broncos (40% rostered Yahoo / 34.2% rostered ESPN)

The disappearing act of Melvin Gordon III in the Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers was nothing short of remarkable. I've talked about this behind the paywalled portion of this article in previous weeks, but it seems Gordon III is dedicated to not seeing the field at all with his performance, in no small part due to a fumbling problem.

Should we take anything away from Week 6, it would say Murray is the player you want. If you like what you saw in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts, then maybe Boone is your man. All I know is one of these two will figure into the equation in Denver moving forward. That said, my money is on Murray.

Kyren Williams, RB, Los Angeles Rams (8% rostered Yahoo / 2.1% rostered ESPN)

As the Cam Akers trade saga wages on, opportunity in the Rams' backfield is abundant. Not to take away from Darrell Henderson Jr., the RB34 overall in PPR scoring on the season, but it is difficult to say how much of the workload he will handle as the Rams transition. I believe the rookie out of Notre Dame warrants consideration.

Though his combine was less-than-stellar, I felt Williams showed a lot as a receiver in the college games I watched of his, and perhaps he could factor in that way. For whatever it's worth, PlayerProfiler has his comp set as James White. This is nothing more than a speculative add in a good offense trending in the right direction.

In case I'm wrong, look to add Malcolm Brown. He did perform pretty well on Sunday and has past experience with Sean McVay and the Rams. There's a decent chance I'm just chasing the shiny new toy in Williams.

Chase Claypool, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (41% rostered Yahoo / 61.7% rostered ESPN)

Though an early start with minimal production may not inspire fantasy managers, Claypool has really come on recently. Through his last two games played, Claypool is the Steelers' leading receiver in overall fantasy output. This production, in some part, is tied to the absence of tight end Pat Freiermuth; however, Claypool has shown in the past he can be a viable flex option at a minimum. As the Steelers' schedule softens up in a couple weeks, you may want to take a shot on rostering the third-year wideout.

Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions (32% rostered Yahoo / 22.4% rostered ESPN)

This is essentially a copy-and-paste from last week's article. As I shared previously, according to Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell, the NFL debut of the former Alabama wideout is just around the corner. Stashing Williams now would be a wise move. The Lions' defense forces the Jared Goff-led offense to play from behind and rip passes all game long. While suboptimal for real-life football, this is exactly the type of fantasy-rich situation we want to see a young, talented receiver walk into. Go ahead and pick him up if you haven't already.
