2022 Fantasy Football Week 9 Drop List

Welcome to the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 9 Drop List.

As per usual, I will be going over players to drop.

Well, fantasy friends, Week 8 is officially in the books. For the first time this year (it seems like), the offense was at a premium. We got to see some stars do their thing (Derrick Henry, Alvin Kamara, Christian McCaffrey, and many others), and the QBs finally played well. For the first time since Week 4, seven QBs went over 20+ fantasy points.

With all the big fantasy games this week, we still had (quite) a few duds. The players I'm about to go over continue to struggle and should be dropped from your teams. To find out who these players are, come check out the 2022 Fantasy Football Week 9 Drop List.

Russell Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos (60%)

I can't believe we have fallen this far.

Russell Wilson has been having a terrible 2022. Through seven games played, Wilson has only had one game over 20 fantasy points (Week 4 against LV). His stat line is as follows: 134/228 (58.8%) 6 TDs - 4 INTs - 1694 YDS. He is rocking a career low in QBR (35.9), TD% (2.6%), and completion % (58.8%).

In terms of fantasy football, Russell Wilson is QB19. His rushing is there, but not enough (3.5/game). With all this being said, Russell Wilson can be dropped. There is a better option on your waiver wire, and he will be there. Sitting at 26.2%, Justin Fields should be rostered over Russell Wilson.

In his last four games, Fields is averaging 21.5 FPPG. Please pick him up now.

Darrell Henderson Jr, RB, Los Angeles Rams (72.7%)

Now is the time to get rid of Darrell Henderson.

In Week 8, he was out-carried 8-to-4 by Ronnie Rivers. Who?

To make matters worse, Henderson was also out-carried 5-to-4 by Malcolm Brown. Well damn, I think we get the message. Darrell Henderson is heading straight for the bench for the Rams and should be heading straight to the waiver wire for you.

In his last five games, Henderson is averaging 6.4 fantasy points. I think that is all that needs to be said. If that didn't convince you, how about the fact that he has only touched the ball 7.6 times a game since then? I'm also forgetting about the very important fact that Kyren Williams will be back after their bye week.

With all this laid out in front of you, it's best to cut your ties with Darrell Henderson.

A.J. Dillon, RB, Green Bay Packers (72.9%)

Man oh man this Green Bay offense is a mess. The only player doing any damage is Aaron Jones, with a sprinkle of Robert Tonyan.

One of the main players to get hit hard by this is A.J. Dillon. Since Week 1 (20 fantasy pts), Dillon is averaging 5.9 fantasy points. The main reason his fantasy points are so low is the fact that he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 1. His red zone usage is brutal, at best. Rocking 10 red zone touches (two goal line), Dillon is getting phased out of the red zone offense.

In four out of his last five games, A.J. Dillon has caught one or fewer balls. As you can tell, it looks like A.J. Dillon is getting phased out of the passing game too.

Robert Woods, WR, Tennessee Titans (60.1%)

This one depends on the health of Ryan Tannehill.

Since his bye week (Week 6), Robert Woods has only six targets, give catches, 52 yards, and zero touchdowns. In 2022, Woods has only had two games over 10 fantasy points (Week 3 and 4). Rocking out as the WR68 right now, Robert Woods should be dropped.

He is in a run-first, then maybe run again offense. So honestly, Robert Woods will never see enough work to become fantasy relevant. Please drop him for someone like Zay Jones.
