The NFL offseason is off to a hot start and has already impacted the 2022 NFL Draft in a big way! We are using Tankathon to determine our mock draft order.
The last time we published a 2022 NFL Mock Draft was right before the Super Bowl. This time around we find a new team in the top 10 and mix in some players riding some post-Combine hype!
The Denver Broncos traded the 9th pick in the draft (and more) to the Seattle Seahawks for Russell Wilson.
Seattle could very well use this pick in search of a new Franchise QB but it's not a lock as they have a lot of holes on that roster.
The Washington Commanders acquired Carson Wentz in a deal with the Indianapolis Colts but held onto their first-round pick. However, that means another team in the top 12 doesn't "need" a quarterback.
It is possible we do not see a quarterback selected until pick 18 when the New Orleans Saints are on the clock. Although, with the Carolina Panthers picking sixth overall, I wouldn't bet on it, unless...
The Panthers plan to make an “aggressive” offer for Deshaun Watson, per @DNewtonespn. https://t.co/4RPIzFUiBm

With that being said, teams can still trade up into the top half of the draft while Jimmy Garoppolo and Jordan Love are available via trade to lead a more competitive team like the Saints or Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jameis Winston, Teddy Bridgewater, Marcus Mariota, Mitchell Trubisky and some others are available via free agency as well.
On top of all of those updates, Calvin Ridley has been suspended for a year for gambling on NFL games. What direction do the Atlanta Falcons go now?!
Speaking of wide receivers, the Cleveland Browns just traded for Amari Cooper! Do you think they should still target a WR in the first round?
We are still firm believers that the Jacksonville Jaguars will look to protect Trevor Lawrence, over selecting one of the defensive ends.
I believe that the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions will pass on this quarterback class and roll with what's currently on their depth charts. You could argue that the Detroit Lions need a Franchise QB and that Jared Goff is just a bridge, but that team is so far from being ready to compete and this quarterback class does not appear to feature "that guy."
Davis Mills did a good enough job in a year that has been anything but normal for the 2021 third-round pick and we have no idea what the Houston Texans do with Deshaun Watson. We imagine they are more likely to target the 2023 QB draft class instead of this current group of quarterbacks
We still don't have a clear enough picture yet to tie Malik Willis (Liberty), Matt Corral (Ole Miss), Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh), Desmond Ridder (Cincinnati) or Sam Howell (North Carolina) to an NFL franchise just yet. However, it is quite possible that all of these guys go in the first round in some random order.

Tyler's Thoughts
- Malik Willis enters the first round after a dominant performance in Mobile at the Senior Bowl and by following it up with another great performance at the combine. I think the Lions take a flier on him, because, well, they need to
- WR1 belongs to Drake London, due to his size. Atlanta needs help everywhere and will take the talented wideout from Southern Cal to pair up with their first-round weapon from last year, Kyle Pitts
- The Seahawks elect to pass on the questionable QB class after dealing Russell Wilson for pick #9 and instead go edge rusher
- Ahmad Gardner has now taken over as CB1 and due to team need, falls a little where the Vikings are thrilled to grab him
- The Eagles shore up the defensive side of the ball with Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, and David Ojabo. They could elect to go with a wideout with one of those three picks as they could use some help opposite Devonta Smith. However, they have used first-round picks on wide receivers each of the last two seasons.
