Welcome to 2022 NFL Week 4 Thursday Night Football Prop Bets!
Last Thursday, we went 2-2 on props. Kareem Hunt got his receptions but fell just short in yardage. Sadly, I can't trust Donovan Peoples-Jones despite my desire to. It seems Amari Cooper has cemented himself as the top dog in Cleveland (as he should) after a quiet Week 1 where DPJ dominated. Pat Freiermuth came through after a quiet first half with two long receptions to get us the over.
This Thursday the Cincinnati Bengals host the undefeated Miami Dolphins. A sentence I didn't expect to write at this point this year. DraftKings Sportsbook has Cincy as a four-point favorite at home, with an O/U of 47.
Despite their win against the Jets and their sack numbers improving, the Bengals' offensive line still struggled to protect Burrow. On 38 dropbacks, Burrow was pressured 15 times. Over their three games in 2022, Burrow is being pressured on nearly 33% of his dropbacks, compared to 2021 where he was pressured on 28% of his dropbacks per Zac Wassink of Yardbarker.
The Dolphins escaped with a win against Buffalo in spite of (and thanks to) a comedy of errors on both sides. Tua Tagovailoa suffered a scary injury on Sunday against the Bills but was cleared from concussion protocol. It's under investigation whether the Dolphins rushed him back, but so far he is on track to play Thursday despite back and ankle injuries.
I have mixed thoughts on the winner this week. On one hand, if Tua is able to play at his 2022 level, I have a feeling the Dolphins are going to cover, and I think they win outright against the AFC champs. If it's obvious he's still struggling with his injuries, then I think Vegas is right to favor the Bengals. Especially in those white uniforms. They deserve an award for those.
