These comeback kids are set to rewrite their stories, aiming to leap from last year's letdowns straight into this season's spotlights. Prepare for a roller-coaster as we delve into who's poised to swap their frowns for fantasy crowns.

2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Bounce-Back Players

Lamelo Ball, PG/SG, Charlotte Hornets

Last year, I rode the Lamelo Ball hype wave harder than anyone, promptly adding him to my fantasy roster, only to watch those sky-high dreams crumble due to pesky ankle injuries. But guess what? My enthusiasm hasn't waned a bit! Before he took his untimely bow last season, he stepped up his game impressively.

Numbers time! He racked up 23.3 PPG, dished out 8.4 APG, snagged 6.4 RPG, and drained a slick 4.0 3PG.

Rewind to the 2021-2022 season for a moment. In a span of 75 adrenaline-pumping games, he clinched the 13th spot in nine-category leagues. And hey, if you can blink past his FG% hiccup at .429, you're golden. This young gun is brimming with untapped potential.

Here's a hot tip: Don't let the ghosts of last season's injuries spook you. This Charlotte Hornets point guard maestro is worth a sizzling late first-round pick.

2022-23 Stats

Khris Middleton, SG/SF, Milwaukee Bucks

Ever feel like Yahoo Fantasy might be sleeping on some players? Case in point: Khris Middleton. Sure, he hit the court just 33 times last season, flirting with the 150th rank in nine-category leagues. But before you jump to conclusions, let's dig a little deeper.

Middleton's 2022-2023 per-36-minute averages? A sizzling 22.3 PP36, 2.3 3P36, 6.3 RP36, 7.3 AP36, and 1.0 SP36, which, by the way, echo his stats from the 2021-2022 season. And just for a stroll down memory lane, the man snagged the 41st rank in both the 2021-2022 and 2020-2021 seasons.

Now, with the winds of the 2023-2024 season blowing favorably and Middleton in tip-top shape, there's a good chance he'll shimmy his way into the top 50. And get this: with his Yahoo ADP lounging comfortably around 80, he's setting up to be the draft's dark horse.

2021-22 Stats

Devin Vassell, SG/SF, San Antonio Spurs

Last year, Devin Vassell was on a tear, lighting up the courts, until a pesky knee injury benched him. In just 28 games, this dynamo chalked up impressive stats, landing him snugly within the top 48 in nine-category leagues. The scoreboard lit up with his 19.6 PPG, 2.8 3PG, 4.0 RPG, 3.6 APG, and 1.3 SPG, all while keeping those turnovers (a mere 1.6 TPG) in check.

Now that he's back on his feet and one of the Spurs' main men, replicating those numbers seems likely. Sure, Victor Wembanyama joined the roster, but Vassell's usage shouldn't take a hit.

That said, fingers crossed our man Devin sidesteps Coach Gregg Popovich's infamous load management dance. Eyeing a punt assist or punt FG% build? Vassell's your mid-round golden ticket.

2022-23 Stats

Miles Bridges, SF/PF, Charlotte Hornets

Miles Bridges on a bounce-back list? Seriously? Indeed, the chatter is loud. From legal entanglements to eyebrow-raising off-court escapades, the man has become, let's say, a tad infamous. However, when it comes to the unforgiving game of fantasy basketball, it's all about the digits. And trust me, Bridges isn't short on those.

After a timeout in the 2022-2023 season, he's eyeing a grand re-entry post a 10-game chill period. Now, reminiscing his 2021-2022 magic, he dazzled with 20.1 PPG, 1.9 3PG, 7.0 RPG, and clinched a cozy top-27 spot in nine-category leagues. While Brandon Miller's entrance may shake the boat, aiming for that top-27 again? Bold, but plausible. And with an enticing ADP of ~90 in Yahoo drafts, Bridges might just be the sneaky pick of the season.
