Streamer Consideration

The article this week focuses on players who are still available in leagues and whose availability you should double-check. It explores a few recent starting lineup adjustments, talks about the possible fallout from the New York-Toronto transaction, and names a few deep-league options.

Tre Jones, San Antonio Spurs (PG)

In Thursday's game against Milwaukee, Jones had his first start of the season and performed admirably, scoring 18 points, dishing out six assists, grabbing five rebounds, and one steal in 35 minutes. Anyone who has stuck with Jones this long despite his lackluster season opener should be thrilled by this performance alone, but those who have chosen to give up on him should feel nothing but panic. Given that Jones is the team's top distributor, a long-term move into the starting lineup or at least more minutes should be imminent. If not, most leagues will quickly snap up Jones.

Cole Anthony, Orlando Magic (PG)

Even though Anthony has been cold lately, he is still averaging 14.1 points (44.6% FG, 35.5% 3PT, 83.7% FT), 4.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.3 threes, 0.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 24.9 minutes, which is a very well-rounded game. Anthony's average minutes played is a career-low, but his average steals are a career-high. Anthony might find it difficult to increase his stat line if Orlando's backcourt, especially if Markelle Fultz (knee) is healthy in the second half of the season. Though Fultz hasn't played in a game in nearly two months, Anthony might wind up playing a more demanding role in the second half of the season. Given his potential for the entire season, he is worth adding.

Donte DiVincenzo, New York Knicks (SG, SF)

DiVincenzo has been on a tear in the three games after the news of New York's big deal broke, averaging 21.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 threes, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 0.7 blocks in 28.9 minutes. DiVincenzo will surely cool off in terms of scoring, but when he's on the court, he's the complete package—a versatile defender as well as a triple threat on offense. He can contribute in a variety of categories even when he isn't scoring much, and given how well he has been playing since the big trade that sent two ball-dominant backcourt players for a wing who is more than comfortable operating off the ball, he is worth a look in most leagues.
