2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Week 21 Drop List

by Greyson Adams

We're in the thick of the Fantasy Basketball Playoffs. Each player on your roster is extremely important. If you're able to find a streaming gem this late, it could be league-winning. I have written the 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Week 21 Drop List to help you drop other players to find these gems.

This list isn't as simple as me telling you which players to drop though. There's context to it. These lists are made based on 9-category, or 9-cat, leagues. I also broke down who I would drop based on which size league you're playing in. Here's my full classification list.

Shallow league: 8- or 10-team leagues with normal roster size (about 15 players per team) or a 12-team league with a smaller roster (about 12-13 players per team).

Standard league: 12-team leagues with a normal roster size, or 14-team leagues with a shallow roster

Deep league: 14 or more teams with larger roster sizes. Typically the area for basketball sickos (like myself).

Last week, I also included my injury drops, which haven't changed for this week. So make sure to check that out for any and all injury concerns you have for players.

It's also important to note that certain players I tell you to drop could be important to your roster for many reasons. If you're close in threes for example, you wouldn't want to drop a three-point specialist. So take this with a grain of salt!

If you have any questions, feel free to tweet me or message me on Twitter (no I will not call it by its other name). Also, make sure you check out our Rest of Season Basketball Rankings for more help deciding who to drop from your roster.

Disclaimer: This list was made before games on Thursday, March 20th. Things can change very quickly, so be on the lookout for that!

Let's get into my 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Week 21 Drop List.

Shallow League Drop

Rui Hachimura, SF/PF, Los Angeles Lakers

Rui Hachimura is really effective in the scoring category and has been on a hot streak, helping your field goal percentage as well. Outside of this, it’s difficult to find value. In shallow leagues, the waiver wire typically has some gems, especially this late in the season. I’d prefer to try to grab one of them instead.

Standard League Drops

Cam Johnson, SF/PF, Brooklyn Nets

Johnson has been mediocre since his return from injury, ranking just 187th in per-game averages over the last week, per Yahoo! Fantasy. His minutes fluctuate, making it difficult to trust him during the fantasy playoffs where every game counts. I would look into some players on teams out of the NBA Playoffs, like the Wizards or the Grizzlies, to stream over him.

Jonas Valanciunas, C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jonas Valanciunas has seen a massive decrease in his role. Over the last two weeks, he ranks just 225th on averages per Yahoo! Fantasy. He’s played less than 20 minutes in seven of the last nine games.

He’s simply not worth rostering unless you’re in a deep league or desperate for rebounds.

Deep League Drop

Andrew Nembhard, PG/SG, Indiana Pacers

His minutes are there, which makes it very tough to drop him, but there’s just no production coming from the Pacers’ guard. Over the last two weeks, he ranks 219th in per game averages. There are plenty of other guys getting run that I would rather have. A few that might be on waivers are:

That concludes my 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Week 21 Drop List. Good luck in your fantasy playoffs!
