2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Weekly Planner

Championship week occurs in a lot of fantasy basketball leagues during Week 23. The good news is that most NBA teams will play four games over the seven days of activity, which is the culmination of all the labour that went into drafting and enhancing rosters. The 2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Week 23 Planner will navigate you through this important week.

But not every schedule is the same; some teams have one back-to-back while others have two. Furthermore, three of the four teams who play just three games in Week 23 play their final games on Friday and Sunday.

While much of this is up to chance, there are a few tactics that can help you be more prepared for the battle.

Let's examine the Week 23 schedule synopsis and a few of its key plot points. If it does as well for you as it did for the UConn men's basketball team in their recent two-week run through the East Region, hopefully it will help you crush your championship week showdown.

Fantasy managers should now fully commit to Keon Ellis

The Sacramento Kings had a terrible week 22 in terms of injuries. Malik Monk will miss four to six weeks due to a damaged MCL in his knee, and Kevin Huerter will have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. Huerter's injury put Ells on the fantasy radar as he entered the starting lineup, and the Monk injury increased his streaming worth even further. Ellis was rostered in 20% of Yahoo clubs as of Saturday night, and that percentage should rise in front of Sacramento's four-game Week 23 schedule.

Harrison Barnes is another player whose worth may increase due to the injuries, even though he hasn't been the best fantasy player this season. With Huerter and Monk out, his average of 29.3 minutes per game might go up a bit. Watching Davion Mitchell, Chris Duarte, and Kessler Edwards in the early going of Week 23 is recommended, particularly since the Kings are playing on Thursday, one of the lighter days of the week.

Week 23 will stream on Thursday and Saturday

As previously mentioned, Week 23's busiest days are Friday (12 games) and Sunday (13), with Saturday (four) being the slowest. With five games on the schedule on Thursday, fantasy managers shouldn't snooze.

Teams playing that evening include Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Golden State, New York, and Philadelphia. Additionally, eight of the ten participating teams will start a run of three games in four days on Thursday. Of those teams, Philadelphia could have the most appealing schedule; the 76ers play at Miami on Thursday and Memphis on Saturday before traveling to the Spurs on Sunday.

After being out since January 30, Joel Embiid (knee) is still a waiting list addition for fantasy managers. Though there was some hope that he would return before the regular season concluded, the current MVP doesn't have much time left to accomplish that. The good news is that Embiid did accompany the team to Friday's game against the Cavaliers.

Although Embiid has advanced to the point in his ramp-up where he is working against live bodies, it is unclear if this is a one-on-one or three-on-three situation. The two choices still open for the center position are Paul Reed and Mo Bamba, with Reed being the superior fantasy option even though he is a substitute.

Finding talented streamers in Portland, Memphis, or Detroit can be the difference that keeps some managers from giving up

Week 23's four games include Detroit, Memphis, and Portland, all of whom have already been ruled out of the postseason. Therefore, finding streamers can be challenging. Add in those teams facing injury issues, it is even more difficult.

Marcus Sasser has unsurprisingly emerged in Detroit, as the youngster has been positioned for more playing time due to Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey's recent health problems. However, who would have imagined that Evan Fournier would slink into view? James Wiseman is also an option, particularly if Jalen Duren is unavailable.

GG Jackson, Jake LaRavia, Scotty Pippen Jr., Charlotte (Vasilije Micic, Tre Mann), Portland (Dalano Banton and Duop Reath), and Washington (Corey Kispert) are other examples of non-playoff players that might be more valuable during championship week. Detroit, Memphis, Charlotte, Portland, and Washington, will wrap off their Week 23 schedules on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, among the clubs mentioned.
