2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Weekly Planner

A new week is upon us, and some teams will soon be hitting the 30-game mark of the season. It feels like hockey season is flying by, so let's get into the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Weekly Planner.

It's been a week of milestones across the NHL. We had Victor Hedman and Matt Duchene each cross the 1,000-career game plateau. Alex Ovechkin became the 16th player in NHL history to hit 1,500 points in a career. The Los Angeles Kings also set the NHL record for longest season-opening road winning streak at 11 games.

We will have another busy week ahead of us featuring 19 teams playing in a back-to-back. It'll be a hectic month for the league, as teams will have to squeeze as many games in as they can before the Christmas break.

Who is in the best position to succeed? What player can help my fantasy team this week? Start reading the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Weekly Planner to find out!

2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 10 Weekly Planner

December 11, 2023 – December 17, 2023

Top Targets

Matt Boldy, Left Wing/Right Wing (82% Rostered)

A coaching change took place in Minnesota following a disappointing start. Fortunately for the Wild, this change has instantly benefitted some of their players including Matt Boldy.

Boldy wasn't happy with the beginning of his season, which included a seven-game absence due to injury. He has been able to turn things around, adding four goals and one assist in the five games under new coach John Hynes.

Minnesota has been able to run a consistent set of lines, so Boldy has been able to build chemistry with linemates Marcus Johansson and Joel Eriksson Ek. Boldy is also going to have several chances to find the scoresheet while a man up as he currently plays an average of 3:27 per game on the man advantage.

Quinton Byfield, Center/Left Wing, Los Angeles Kings (45% Rostered)

The Kings have been patient with Quinton Byfield's development in the NHL, and it finally looks to be paying off. The former #2 overall pick looks like he has adjusted to the league and is in the midst of a breakout season.

Byfield is up to 21 points through the team's 23 games, registering eight goals and 13 assists. His production is largely supported by the amazing chemistry with linemates Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe. The trio have played together for 251 minutes so far this year and are outshooting opponents 141-117 while together. They are also outscoring opponents 15-6 when on the ice together.

It remains to be seen if Byfield's breakout season is among us, but it sure feels like it. If the first-line trio remains the same moving forward, Byfield is going to be a must-watch for your fantasy team.

Adam Fantilli, Center, Columbus Blue Jackets (29% Rostered)

We are going to look back at the 2023 NHL Draft years from now and think about how impressive the class was. Adam Fantilli, the #3 selection, is going to be one reason for this.

The rookie took a few games to adjust to the NHL level but has found his groove as of late. Fantilli has found the back of the net three times while adding two assists over his last four games. He is up to 15 points (seven goals and eight assists) through the 28 games so far this year.

Line combinations have been fluid for the Jackets through the first part of the year, and Fantilli has had several different linemates. He's recently been paired with his former college linemate, Kent Johnson, and the duo will hopefully be able to replicate their college success in the big leagues.

Injury Alerts

Alex Tuch, Right Wing, Buffalo Sabres

In what will be his second injury stint of the season, Alex Tuch is expected to be out of action for at least seven to 10 days. Tuch has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury after missing three games earlier in the year with an upper-body injury.

The 27-year-old was able to play 16:19 of Sunday's game before heading to the locker room during the third period. Coach Don Granato did not provide any updates on the extent of the injury but hopes that it will resolve itself in about a week.

Tuch's absence won't cause many issues with the team's forward lines as Tage Thompson has returned from his injury. Tage has been able to fill the position of first-line RW alongside Jeff Skinner and Casey Mittelstadt.

Andre Burakovsky, Left Wing/Right Wing, Seattle Kraken

2023 has not been a year that Andre Burakovsky would like to remember. An injury forced him to miss the last three months of last season, and he has had a 20-game absence to begin the season. Burakovsky returned to action on Thursday night, only to exit after just 9:08 of ice time with another issue.

It is unclear what the 28-year-old hurt this time around, but coach Dave Hakstol confirmed that it is unrelated to the injury earlier in the season. The Kraken have placed Burakovsky on injured reserve once again where he is listed as week-to-week.

Thomas Chabot, Defense, Ottawa Senators

Thomas Chabot sustained a lower-body injury on Saturday night, and the Ottawa Senators have since placed him on long-term injured reserve. The team's top defensive player has only played in nine games this season due to multiple injuries.

Chabot missed 10 games with a hand injury and returned to action on December 1st. He recorded one assist over two games of action and is now expected to miss more time. According to the organization, the team is expected to be without Chabot for at least four weeks due to his lower-body injury.

Team Worth Watching This Week

Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche came into the year as one of the favorites to lift the Stanley Cup, and their early season play has surely supported that. Week 10 features some favorable matchups for the Avs as they hope to build a strengthen their Central Division lead.

As you could've imagined, Colorado is led by their trio of superstars as they have been doing for the past few seasons. Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Mikko Rantanen are all over a point per game through the first two months of the season. They're also receiving support from newcomers Ross Colton and Ryan Johansen.

Alexandar Georgiev has carried the workload between the pipes, playing in 22 of the team's 26 total games. His 14 wins lead all goaltenders, and no goalie has more saves than the Bulgarian (560).

Colorado (6th in league standings) will be taking on Calgary (22nd), Buffalo (24th), and San Jose (31st) at home during the week. They'll also hit the road on the first game of a back-to-back to take on the Winnipeg Jets (9th). Expect the Avs to utilize their high-powered offense against these teams. And I wouldn't recommend playing any goalies if they have Colorado on the schedule.
