2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 11 Weekly Planner

The holiday season is upon us! We are into the dog days of the NHL season, and the Christmas break is coming up. Let's jump into the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 11 Weekly Planner and get down to business.

It'll be a busy week for the league as every team will be playing in at least three games in the week leading up to Christmas. Detroit and Minnesota will be in action four times during the week which will include a back-to-back for each. No action on Christmas Eve means it will also be a short week, too.

Let's stop wasting time and get to the hockey and presents. First, it's time for the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 11 Weekly Planner. Happy Holidays everybody!

2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 11 Weekly Planner

December 18, 2023 – December 24, 2023

Top Targets

Brock Nelson, Center, New York Islanders (75% Rostered)

Brock Nelson has been a key piece of the Islanders' recent surge, as the team has gone 7-1-2 over their last 10 games. During this stretch, Nelson has contributed with two goals and seven assists and has helped the team move up to second place in the Metropolitan Division.

The Islanders' second line has had incredible chemistry so far in the year, with Nelson playing alongside Pierre Engvall and Kyle Palmeri. The trio have 291:54 in ice time together and have outshot opponents 179-163 while outscoring them 15-7.

Nelson has been playing some excellent hockey of late and could become a valuable fantasy hockey option for your team. The continued bond with his line, along with him having the third-highest powerplay TOI, means that he should remain important throughout the season.

Lawson Crouse, Left Wing/Right Wing, Arizona Coyotes (57% Rostered)

The Arizona Coyotes look to be past their "rebuilding" phase and should finally be going for it for the foreseeable future. Lawson Crouse has solidified himself as a key piece of the franchise through his play so far this year.

Crouse could be well on his way to career highs in both goals and assists this season, already registering 13 goals and six assists. He has been able to score in three of the last four games, also adding a powerplay assist. If you are looking for a quick fantasy replacement, Crouse's hot hand makes him super valuable.

The Coyotes have also found consistency in their lines which is never a bad thing when looking for a fantasy replacement. Crouse will usually be out there with Matias Maccelli and Nick Bjugstad. As a line, the three are outscoring opponents 12-7 and outshooting them 131-115 over 22:57 of ice time.

Tomas Hertl, Center, San Jose Sharks (52% Rostered)

Things haven't been the best in San Jose, but they have surely turned things around following their 0-10-1 start to the season. Tomas Hertl, as expected, is one of the main reasons the team has gone 9-7-2 since the historic slide.

Hertl is up to nine goals and 15 assists over the 29 games so far this season, adding six points over the last four games. Given the lack of skill around him on the Sharks, it is impressive for Hertl to still be producing these types of numbers.

I understand that the Czech star may be in year two of an eight-year contract in San Jose, but anything can happen. The Sharks, at any point, could look to move Hertl for draft capital to strengthen the future. If he is doing this with the Sharks, think of what he could do with a contending team!

Injury Alerts

Charlie McAvoy, Defense, Boston Bruins

The Bruins will have to manage the next couple of games without their top defenseman Charlie McAvoy. Coach Jim Montgomery ruled out a head injury, so the extent of McAvoy's injury is unknown.

Following McAvoy's addition to injured reserve, the B's will need to find help in all areas of the game. The 25-year-old is the first player over the bench whether the team is on the powerplay, penalty kill, or 5-on-5.

Patrick Laine, Left Wing/Right Wing, Columbus Blue Jackets

Patrick Laine is expected to be on the shelf for the next six weeks due to a fractured clavicle. Laine scored the first goal of Thursday's game and was later upended during the second period which forced him out of action.

It's been a forgettable season for the Fin, who has missed 13 games so far this season due to injuries and illness. He has only been able to register six goals and three assists through the short stints of action that has been played this season.

Jeff Skinner, Left Wing, Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres have placed Jeff Skinner on injured reserve following a heavy hit from Nathan MacKinnon on Wednesday night. Skinner attempted to continue playing the game but only registered 7:57 of ice time before leaving the game for good.

Buffalo will now be without the team's second-leading scorer (12 goals and 10 points) for a few games. Tough opponents in the Maple Leafs and Rangers are ahead for the Sabres, so his absence will be recognized.

Team Worth Watching This Week

Florida Panthers

After making the improbable run to the Stanley Cup Finals last season, the Florida Panthers are back and showing that it wasn't a fluke. Moving into the new week, they are in a prime position to catch the Boston Bruins for first place in the Atlantic Division.

The Cats are currently tied for second place with Toronto (36 Points) and are both in striking distance of Boston (40 Points). The upcoming schedule (@CGY, STL, VGK) is favorable for Florida and could capitalize on a Bruins team that has not been sharp as of late.

Through the first part of the season, it's been the normal cast of characters getting it done on the offensive end. Sam Reinhart (37 Points), Aleksander Barkov (28 Points), and Carter Verhaeghe (23 Points) have become one of the best first lines in all of hockey, and newcomer Evan Rodrigues (21 Points) has also had a great impact.

Defensively, the team is also exceeding all expectations. Sergei Bobrovsky has received a bulk of the starts so far this season, getting 22 of the team's 29 games. He is currently rocking a 2.56 GAA with a .906 SV% helping the team have the 8th lowest goals allowed this season (77).
