2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 17 Weekly Planner

It's a quiet week in the NHL, but we're here no matter what! Welcome back to the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 17 Weekly Planner, the All-Star Game edition.

Unlike the past few years, we will have a player draft for the All-Star teams decided by players with celebrity co-captains. On Thursday, the captains of each team will draft from the pool of All-Star players who will then play each other on Saturday evening.

There will be a major change to the All-Star weekend, as the traditional Skills competition will no longer take place. Instead, we'll have 12 NHL All-Stars competing across eight events fighting for a $1,000,000 prize!

Before we get to the All-Star festivities, we have NHL action! Let's get into the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 17 Weekly Planner and find out what's happening.

Top Targets

Colton Sissons, Center, Nashville Predators (10% Rostered)

If you're looking for a value add to your fantasy team during the quiet week, Colton Sissons could be a guy for you.

Some people may look at Sissons' stats for the year with doubt, but the 30-year-old's 12 goals and 12 assists are within striking distance of his career highs (15 goals and 21 assists). The Predators have given him a bigger role on this year's team, slotting him into the first powerplay unit. His seven powerplay points rank 5th in Nashville.

Sissons' isn't necessarily a glamorous option, but he'll give you production and support to your fantasy team in a week with just a handful of games.

Shane Pinto, Center, Ottawa Senators (8% Rostered)

Following a 41-game suspension, Shane Pinto has been handed a prominent role in the Ottawa Senators' structure. Last year's 20-goal scorer is looking to prove that he can replicate last year's production through the second part of the season.

Upon his return, Pinto was placed on the team's third-line centering Vladimir Tarasenko and Mathieu Joseph. This should benefit Pinto, and he should be able to quickly start producing on the offensive end. He should add a boost to the team's 24th-ranked powerplay.

Pinto has tallied one goal and one assist in his three games back. His numbers will continue to improve, and the 23-year-old will be a key contributor for the Sens through the last half of the season. While the playoffs don't seem likely, Pinto should become a game-changer making a major impact on the team.

Injury Alerts

Jack Hughes,Β  Center/Left Wing, New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils have announced that Jack Hughes has been put on injured reserve with an upper-body injury. The IR move is retroactive to January 5th, so the team can activate him at any point but will likely wait until after the All-Star break.

Hughes has been out of action since January 6th after being injured in the team's win against the Blackhawks. The Devils will hope to have him back as soon as possible, as the team has gone 3-6 during the injury stint.

Owen Tippett, Left Wing/Right Wing, Philadelphia Flyers

After leaving Saturday's game early, Owen Tippett was placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury. The injury comes at a frustrating time, as Tippett was red-hot through the past couple of weeks. The Flyers' third-leading scorer had produced six goals and two assists through his last seven games before suffering the injury.

The injury stint hasn't been too terrible for Tippett, who just signed an eight-year contract extension with Philly. Now, the organization will hope to get their franchise piece back after the All-Star break.
