2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 25 Weekly Planner

The NHL playoffs are right around the corner, and there's no better place to be than the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 25 Weekly Planner. It's looking like a quieter week across the league, but the stakes are rising.

We'll only have two teams playing four times this week, and five back-to-backs across the week is light. Even with this light scheduling, we'll have some heavyweight action on the ice.

Who is going to win the head-to-head between the two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, Boston and Florida? Can Dallas travel to Vancouver and take down the Western Conference leader? Will the Rangers be able to knock a red-hot Colorado team off their game?

We will find out very soon! Let us find out what else we can look forward to with the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 25 Weekly Planner.

Top Targets

Mark Scheifele, C, Winnipeg Jets (87% Rostered)

For years, Mark Scheifele has been one of the main factors in what makes the Winnipeg Jets run. This year is no different, and Scheifele looks to be playing his best with the postseason on the horizon.

Scheifele reached the 20-goal mark for the ninth consecutive season following a hat trick Tuesday night against the Rangers. He is second on the team in goals (22) while leading the team in points (62) as expected. I would expect him to hold on to the team lead through the end of the season as the 31-year-old is playing his best hockey of the season.

He will also remain linked on a line with the team's leader in goals, Kyle Connor, making Scheifele far more valuable. The duo recorded 664:16 of ice time this year and have outscored the opponents 33-25.

Alex Tuch, RW, Buffalo Sabres (79% Rostered)

We have touched on the late-season success of the Buffalo Sabres over the last couple of weeks. New York native Alex Tuch will need to be a key piece through the rest of the season if he wants to see his hometown team snap the longest playoff drought in pro sports!

In the most important week of the season, Tuch accumulated a point streak of four games. Tuch needs to replicate that feat to keep Buffalo's season alive and has the chance to do so with three straight home games this upcoming week.

Lucas Raymond, LW/RW, Detroit Red Wings (53% Rostered)

Speaking of the Eastern Conference Wild Card picture, Lucas Raymond and his Detroit Red Wings sit in the final spot. The 21-year-old has become the unlikely leading point scorer (24 goals and 26 assists) at this point of the season.

Raymond supplied a six-game point streak through Week 24, recording nine points during the hot stretch. He's important particularly of late for Detroit due to the extended absence of captain Dylan Larkin.

The duo will reunite with Larkin's return to the ice soon. Raymond's hot hands will be exactly what Larkin needs to get back up to full speed.

Injury Alerts

Leo Carlsson, C, Anaheim Ducks

It started as a rookie year with so much promise and will likely end as one with bad luck. Leo Carlsson's rookie season will likely end following a collision on Thursday night.

The 19-year-old has battled a few injuries throughout the season including Thursday's accidental knee-on-knee with Chicago's Alex Vlasic. Carlsson was slowly helped off the ice without putting pressure on his leg.

Given the Ducks' position in the standings, expect Anaheim to shut Carlsson down for the rest of the year. It'll allow him some extra time to heal for his sophomore campaign.

Vince Dunn, Defense, Seattle Kraken

It might have started as a day-to-day absence, but Vince Dunn's injury has forced him out of action for the last seven games. On top of that, Dunn did not accompany the team on their short road trip and there is no timetable for his return.

Before the injury, the 27-year-old defenseman was factoring in on the offensive side of the action. He found the scoresheet six times (three goals and three assists) over his last seven games.

We don't know when he will return, or if Seattle still has a chance at the playoffs, but they hope to have him back as quickly as possible.

Team Worth Watching This Week

Nashville Predators

It may be too late for the Nashville Predators to make a push for the top three in the Central Division. Fortunately for them, they are setting themselves up to be the Wild Card team that nobody will want to play in the playoffs.

Since the NHL All-Star Game, no team has had a better record than the Preds (15-2-2). They've been successful on this run thanks to 77 goals over the stretch (roughly four goals per game). More recently, the hot run includes a stretch of 8-0-2 over their last 10 games.

A big reason that they are on this stretch run is the point production of Filip Forsberg (26), Roman Josi (26), and Gustav Nyquist (24). It also helps when Juuse Saros starts playing out of his mind. He owns an 11-2-2 record during the stretch with a 2.36 GAA and .922 SV%.

Nashville will play a home game against Vegas and then hit the road for two against Arizona and Colorado. With a couple of playoff teams coming up, we'll find out how real of a contender the Preds can be.
