2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 26 Weekly Planner

The bad news is that the fantasy season is almost over. But the good news is that we have fantasy hockey playoffs this month! Let's get into another round of the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 26 Weekly Planner and finish out this season strong.

We've seen an increase in offensive production this season, and it is only fitting that the race for the Art Ross Trophy will come down to the wire. Nathan MacKinnon (123 Points) is looking to claim the award for the first time in his career, while Nikita Kucherov (124 Points) and Connor McDavid (122 Points) look to reclaim the honor.

It feels like there are no clear-cut winners for any of the NHL Awards this season, making for an exciting last few weeks of the season.

Which will Hart Memorial Trophy voters value more - Auston Matthews' pursuit of 70 goals or Connor McDavid's chase of 100 assists? Did Connor Hellebuyck's late-season slide hurt his chances of taking home his second Vezina? And who will take on the challenge of beating the Presidents' Trophy curse?

We only have a few games left, so let's enjoy the chaos. Here we go with the 2023-24 Fantasy Hockey Week 26 Weekly Planner!

Top Targets

Filip Forsberg, LW, Nashville Predators (93% Rostered)

The Predators' point streak may have concluded, but Filip Forsberg is not quite finished with his personal point streak.

Forsberg's point streak became instrumental to the team's success. He was finding different ways to get on the scoresheet while helping the team continue winning. He is up to 16 points (eight goals and eight assists) over his last eight games.

Along the way, Forsberg has hit the 40-goal mark for the second time in his career. He will also pass his previous career high in points (84) as he sits one point back of the mark with nine games remaining on the season.

How is this guy not owned in 100% of fantasy hockey leagues?

Jordan Kyrou, C/RW, St. Louis Blues (79% Rostered)

St. Louis is on the outside of the playoffs looking in. A late-season push from the team, led by the play of Jordan Kyrou, has them looking to sneak their way into a playoff berth.

The 25-year-old has registered eight points (four goals and four assists) over his last four games. His recent play, along with linemates Pavel Buchnevich and Robert Thomas, has helped the team get to a record of 7-2-1 over their last 10 games.

With nine games remaining and five points to make up on Los Angeles, can Kyrou help his team return to the playoffs?

Jamie Benn, LW, Dallas Stars (74% Rostered)

Unlike the Eastern Conference, we have seen only one team in the Western Conference secure a playoff berth. This one team would happen to be the Dallas Stars, led by the strong play of captain Jamie Benn.

The former Art Ross winner has, by his standards, had a down year in 2023-24. 18 goals and 26 assists on the season would rank as his ninth-best point season in his 15-year career. Thankfully, he's found his offensive game of late.

Benn has provided 20 points (nine goals and 11 assists) over the Stars' last 13 games. It includes 12 points (seven goals and five assists) over his last eight games.

A late-season stretch of excellent has Jamie Benn looking like a phenomenal fantasy pickup for those fighting for the playoffs.

Injury Alerts

Valeri Nichushkin, LW/RW, Colorado Avalanche

A few weeks after headlining the Top Target section of the Fantasy Hockey Weekly Planner, Valeri Nichushkin will headline Injury Alerts.

The Avalanche announced that Nichushkin would not play in Thursday's matchup against the Rangers. He returned to action on March 8th following a two-month stint in the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. The 29-year-old has been excellent since his return, providing eight points (four goals and four assists) over eight games.

No specifics were given about Nichushkin's injury, and we hope he returns to action soon. He'll be a key fixture on the team's first line alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.

Oskar Sundqvist, C, St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues will be forced to continue their push to the playoffs without Oskar Sundqvist, who has been a key player in their lineup for years. The 30-year-old suffered a torn ACL and is expected to miss about six months.

This season started strong for Sundqvist who was held pointless over the last 15 games before the injury. Even through the drought, the 30-year-old center was still featured on the team's powerplay given the ability to produce offense.

He'll now have to watch his team from the sidelines and hope they can make up some ground in the Western Conference Wild Card standings.

Timothy Liljegren, D, Toronto Maple Leafs

With the playoffs on the horizon, Toronto will be forced to navigate their defensive rotation given the news that Timothy Liljegren will be out of the lineup.

The 24-year-old was scratched from Thursday's lineup with an upper-body injury following Tuesday's game where he played 22:28. Coach Keefe did not have a timeframe for Liljegren other than that he'll "miss some time".

Liljegren has a high usage on the Leafs' backend, averaging 19:40 of TOI/GP with 1:38 PP TOI/GP. It'll be a big ask for whichever player gets a temporary promotion due to the Swede's absence.

Team Worth Watching This Week

Los Angeles Kings

Do the Los Angeles Kings have enough to secure their spot in the NHL Playoffs? With a slate of winnable games on the horizon for Week 26, they should be able to.

Looking ahead, LA has a couple of Pacific Division matchups with Seattle and Vancouver with a road battle in San Jose. We'll also see them go up against the Winnipeg Jets who have mustered up a record of 4-5-1 over their last 10 games.

Since the beginning of March, we've seen the usual suspects getting it done on the offensive end for the Kings. Anze Kopitar (14 points), Adrian Kempe (12), and Kevin Fiala (11) have helped the team get to a record of 8-4-1 in the month placing them in the Wild Card picture.

It's also been a resurgence season for Cam Talbot, who found himself in this year's All-Star Game. The 36-year-old has supported the team with a 6-3 record since March began, rocking a 2.22 GAA and a .924 SV%.
