2023 Devy Week 9 Stock Up-Stock Down

Welcome to the 2023 Devy Week 9 Stock Up-Stock Down. This article each week will go with my Devy Rankings which are updated every week.

With the College Football season more than halfway over, I wanted to touch on some players who are having a really good season but may be flying under the radar. So that means this week I'm only going to be giving you players whose stock is on the rise.

Let's get to our Devy Stock Up-Stock Down for the week.

Stock Up

Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oklahoma Sooners, SR

Gabriel has really come into his own in his second year at Oklahoma. He has thrown for 2,302 yards, 19 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. His 85.1 QBR is the third best in the nation.

He has played his way into the draft conversation. Right now he most likely will go in the third round but that could change depending on how the rest of the season plays out for him.

Devontez Walker, WR, North Carolina Tar Heels, JR

Since being re-instated by the NCAA Walker has been on fire. He has become Drake Maye's favorite target and gives the Tar Heels a legitimate passing threat.

In his four games this season, Walker has 26 receptions, 397 yards and four touchdowns. I can see Walker declaring if Drake Maye does but if Walker stays, he will be a hot commodity in the Devy world.

Malik Washington, WR, Virginia Cavaliers, SR

Washington is the WR that no one is talking but he deserves all the recognition.

He is third in the nation in yards (935) and receptions (68) and has six receiving touchdowns on the season. The best part about it is he is doing it on a bad offense. Defenses have been keying in on him all season and he is still putting up gaudy numbers.

Makhi Hughes, RB, Tulane Green Wave, FR

Just a Freshman, Hughes is making quite the name for himself at Tulane.

Hughes has four straight games with at least 120 yards rushing, and four touchdowns in that span. He has totaled 772 yards and five touchdowns on the season. His usage in the passing game is lacking, but being only a Freshman, he has time to work on that. Come Devy drafts, he will be talked about as a first-round talent.
