Buy Low Candidates
Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants
Jones is under the spotlight after a less-than-ideal Week 1 against the Cowboys. This matchup can be chalked up to a couple of factors. Number one, The right side of the Giants offensive line was brutal, allowing 17 pressures and multiple sacks. The weather was also horrible, with the downpour leading to multiple drops, bad snaps, and slippery conditions.
Jones is not going to be facing defenses like Dallas all season, with that unique blend of stunts and blitzes. His running offers a safer floor, and the passing will be there when Micah Parsons isn't in his face every two seconds.
D.J. Moore, WR, Chicago Bears
Moore did not have the best outing in his Bears debut, with only a couple of catches. He did have standout cornerback Jaire Alexander on him most of the time. Justin Fields was rusty in his first game, which led to Moore's lack of production.
The Bears offense will begin to gel, and Fields has been improving every season. Moore can be had for a late first if you are a contender, and he can fill in nicely as a WR2 on your squad.
Sell High Players
Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers
Doubs has a very good first week, catching multiple touchdown passes in a win over the Bears. While this type of production was welcomed by fantasy owners, it is unlikely to be sustained. For one, top wideout Christian Watson missed this game due to an injury. Watson is the unquestioned target hog in this offense, as shown in the preseason.
Doubs also had the lowest YPC out of the Packers receivers in week one, a disturbing sign of minimal after-the-catch ability. Now is a good time to capitalize on league members who saw the two touchdowns and want to pay for him.
Deshaun Watson, QB, Cleveland Browns
Watson had a solid QB1 finish on Sunday, helped by a rushing touchdown. Yet against a Bengals defense that lost several playmakers in the offseason, Watson threw for just 154 yards and missed several easy throws.
Even when running the ball, he did not look like prime Houston Texans Deshaun Watson. With this performance following a lackluster preseason, now is the time to sell. See if any of your league-mates want what they think is the old Watson.
