2023 Fantasy Baseball Hitting Planner (6/19 - 6/25)

Welcome to the 2023 Fantasy Baseball Hitting Planner (6/19 - 6/25)

This Sunday is Father's Day and this is always a mixed emotional day. It will mark the second Father's Day since I lost my Father to Cancer. However, it also marks my 10th Fahters day as a father myself. That makes the day feel a little less depressing.

Having two young sons that call me Dad is a highlight of my life. There is one Father's Day memory among many that stick out in particular to me.

It was Fahter's Day 2019 when my wife went above and beyond by spoiling me. I started the day off golfing 18 holes with my Dad, which is a big enough gift by itself. However, when I got home my wife set up a beer scavenger hunt similar to how the Easter Bunny does with eggs on Easter. I was to seek out beer that was hidden all over the house and backyard. It was like being a kid on Easter all over again.

Then if that wasn't enough we went out to lunch at the local brewery where they were having a BBQ and raffle for prizes.

While it may not seem like a big deal to many, but this is a Father's Day memory that will always be engrained in my memory bank.

I hope you all enjoy your Father's Day and, you get to spend it with your Dad or your children and you make many endless memories.

Now let's get into this week's hitting planner.

Week 6/19 - 6/25 MLB Schedule

Teams to Target

Cincinnati Reds

If you are looking to cash in on a team riding high, look no further than the Reds. In the past two weeks, the Reds have scored 65 runs which ranks as the seventh most in the league. They have taken an advanced approach at the plate as well as they have drawn the ninth most walks in the past two weeks. Additionally, the Reds get to face four right-handed pitchers, and the Reds rank in the top 10 of OBP versus righties.

It appears that the young prospects have given life to the offense as McLain, De La Cruz, India, and Benson have all played well the past two weeks.

Now they also get a favor from the scheduling gods as they will get to play all seven games at home or "Coors Light". Only Coors Field and Fenway have a better Statcast Park Factor than Great American Ball Park. While they do have to face Strider this week. Strider has been bad in his past two starts surrendering 14 ER in 9IP.

Fire up your Reds hitters with confidence this week.

San Fransisco Giants

Another team that has been playing really well is the Giants. They are currently ranked seventh in wRC+ as a team this year and they also have a 121 wRC+ in June. Which ranks as the fifth best. They are also tops in the league in BABIP for June. Which has helped the Giants score the fifth most runs.

Similar to the Reds they also have seven games at home this year. Furthermore, the Giants have scored the ninth most runs of the year and have scored the fifth most in the month of June.

In addition to that, they will face five righties in seven games and only six other teams have a better OPS versus righties than the Giants. That is of course in large part to their left-handed dominant lineups.

They aren't the flashy names but I would be playing your Giants hitters this week.

Team to Avoid

Kansas City Royals

The Royals have had not only a rough season so far, but they have also had a rough month of June. They are currently ranked as the fifth worst in wRC+ as a team.

In addition, the power numbers are way down in June. They currently have the fourth-worst ISO at only .124. Thanks to their eight home runs since June 1st. The eight home runs rank as the worst in all of baseball.

The Royals will also have to face the Rays who are not only the best team in the league. They also have the second-best team ERA as they are only allowing a stingy 3.5 runs per game. To make matters worse they will have to see both McClanahan and Glasnow as well.

I would be looking to fade my Royals hitters this week where ever feasible.
