2023 Fantasy Baseball Hitting Planner (7/24 - 7/30)

Welcome to the 2023 Fantasy Baseball Hitting Planner (7/24 - 7/30)

In this weekly article, I will take a look at several teams and players worth targeting when setting your lineups.

I hope you have followed along, because if you have been then you would have played both Josh Naylor and Cody Bellinger last week on my recommendation. Both of them have been on absolute fire the past two weeks as both are ranked number and number two hitters in the past two weeks.

Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going this week as we take a look at several more hitters and teams to target and avoid this week for your fantasy teams.

Now let's get into this week's hitting planner.

MLB Schedule 7/24 - 7/30

Teams to Target

San Fransisco Giants

The Giants don't have the sexy, flashy, superstar names on their roster. However, they have plenty of hitters that are worth starting in your leagues. Evidenced by their 451 runs scored which is the 13th-best in the league.

The Giants get six games this week and all are favorable matchups. They get to face off against the Tigers, Athletics, and Red Sox. All of them rank in the bottom half of the league in team ERA. While the A's are the league's worst in team ERA with an ERA just shy of 6 runs a game.

Play your Giants hitters this week.

Chicago Cubs

The Cubs are the tenth-best team when it comes to runs scored. They have been even better in the past two weeks. In fact, no other team has scored more runs than the Cubs in the past two weeks. They are currently averaging six runs a game. They have even scored double-digit runs in three games this past week alone.

The Cubs are also only one of 15 teams to have a team wRC+ above 100. They also rank in the top 10 in on-base percentage.

The Cubs will have six games this week and they will come against the White Sox and the Cardinals. Both of which rank in the bottom 10 of the league in team ERA and both teams have a team ERA above 4.5 runs per game.

Keep those hot-hitting Cub hitters in your lineups.

Team to Avoid

New York Mets

There may not be a team with a more underwhelming performance thus far this season than the Mets. The Mets have the highest team payroll and yet have one of the worst offenses in the league.

They currently rank in the bottom half of the league in runs scored. They also rank in the bottom half of the league in slugging percentage as well.

The struggles have really taken center stage in the last two weeks. They have only scored 31 runs in that time span. Which is the second worst behind only Pittsburgh.

The Mets will have four home games this week, which is of concern as they have only scored 183 runs at home which is the 26th-worst mark in the league.

I would avoid all Mets hitters this week.
