Welcome to the 2023 Fantasy Baseball Hitting Planner (7/3-7/9)
Happy Fourth of July week! This week generally marks the halfway point of the season. We are now getting to the point of the season where teams are looking internally to see if they are in fact, contenders or pretenders.
So we are just one week away from the All-Star Break and roughly three weeks away from the trade deadline. We have already seen some trades take place, as Aroldis Chapman was shipped off to Texas this past week.
I would expect many more trades to take place in the coming weeks. The MLB trade deadline is always exciting as teams are always making deals to make their team better for the future and the present.
Let me know who you want your team to trade for down in the comments.
Now let's get into this week's hitting planner.

Team to Target
The Reds have been one of the most electrifying teams the past two weeks, as they have scored 84 runs and only the Braves have scored more runs than the Reds.
The power numbers have been impressive as well. They have hit 27 HR and again no one has hit more home runs than the Reds except the Braves.
While they do reside in the best hitter's park in baseball, they will be on the road this week but they have scored the 13th most runs on the road this year and have the seventh-best batting average on the road.
The two series this week are against Washington and the Brewers and they both rank in the bottom half of the league in team ERA. They have both surrendered 100+ home runs this year which rank in the top ten for home runs given up.
Get all your Reds hitters in your lineups this week.
Team to Avoid
As hot as the Reds have been the Phillies have been the opposite. The Phillies have only scored the 19th most runs on the season and have scored the second least in the last two weeks. They have only scored 35 runs in the past two weeks which isn't even three runs a game.
A shocking stat is the Phillies have only hit 9 home runs this past two weeks. Only the Bleu Jays and Brewers have hit fewer home runs in the past two weeks.
The struggles don't stop there either the Phillies have struck out at an alarming rate as a team as well this past two weeks. Their wRC+ of only 80 is the fifth worst in the past two weeks.
This week they go on the road and face the Rays and Marlins. Both of them rank in the top half of the league in team ERA and the Rays are the second best when it comes to team ERA.
I would try to avoid the Philly hitters this week if possible.
