2023 Fantasy Baseball Pitching Planner (4/24 - 4/30)

As we round the corner to the fourth week of the season, here is the 2023 Fantasy Baseball Pitching Planner (4/24 - 4/30)!

We are getting close to finishing the first month of the season, and the SP market has been up and down. Injuries are more prevalent than ever, and some aces such as Sandy Alcantara, are looking like themselves. With all that in mind, it is important to start the right players in your matchups!

In this article, we will be diving into the pitching schedule and discuss some start and sit options. We will also take a look at some guys that will serve as solid streamers for the week.

You're always going to start your aces, but this article will help with guys that are on the cusp. One bad start can ruin your whole week and we're here to help you avoid just that!

The 2023 Fantasy Baseball Pitching Planner (4/24-4/30) also includes a table listing all the two-start pitchers and their grades for each matchup. This table can help when it comes to deciding whether to actually plug in a two-start pitcher or not. Just because you have a pitcher with two starts that week doesn't necessarily mean you should start him!

Two-Start Pitchers

Taj Bradley, Tampa Bay Rays (HOU, @CHW)

How exciting is this kid? His stuff looks fantastic and his first two MLB starts were dazzling. Bradley enters this week riding a 2.61 ERA and a .98 WHIP with 17(!) strikeouts in 10.1 innings. With the Rays losing Jeffrey Springs for the season, the team is going to have to lean on their top prospect. He looks poised, confident and is oozing with potential. However, this week he'll face two tough tests as both opponents have potent offenses. Regardless, I think you have to place Bradley in your lineup and give him a go!

Tommy Henry, Arizona Diamondbacks (KC, @COL)

After the Diamondbacks designated Madison Bumgarner for assignment on Thursday, they called up Tommy Henry to take his place. Henry has two of the easiest matchups this week as both opponents have a wRC+ under 77.  However, Fantasy managers should not feel confident starting him. The statcast page is full of blue as the 25-year-old has not looked good in his MLB action. Furthermore, he has a 6.33 ERA in 21.1 minor league innings this season.

Despite the alluring matchup, stay away. Henry might not even last through the week if Arizona decides to give Brandon Pfaadt the reins. However, it's unlikely they have Pfaadt make his MLB debut at Coors Field when they play Washington or Miami the next time through the rotation.

Johan Oviedo, Pittsburgh Pirates (LAD, @WAS)

Oviedo's reportedly been tinkering with his four-seam fastball and it seems to have paid off in his last start. In his last start against the A's, he went 7 innings giving up just 1 earned run and 7 strikeouts. He gets a similar matchup this week against the Marlins.

Noah Syndergaard, Los Angeles Dodgers (@PIT, STL)

Thor hasn't been the most consistent starter so far. Through four games, the hard-throwing righty has a 4.91 ERA with a 1.23 WHIP. While the Pirates matchup looks good, the St. Louis one looks awful. It's hard to trust him so far, but if you're feeling risky, roll the dice.

Lance Lynn, Chicago White Sox (@TOR, TB)

The White Sox swap Giolito with Lynn setting up Lance for a two-start week. Lynn is another starter that has been hard to figure out this year. He got torched against the Phillies in his last start. Now, this two-start pitcher faces the Blue Jays and the Rays. It's a brutal upcoming week. You have to sit him this week until he proves to be the guy you drafted, especially with these two upcoming opponents.
