Two-Start Pitchers

Braxton Garrett, Marlins (KC, @CHW)

Garrett is my favorite two-start pitcher of the week. First off, the matchups are great. The Royals and White Sox rank near the bottom of the league in offense -- both teams have a wRC+ under 90. Secondly, Braxton has been pitching well lately. In his last four starts, he's only given up a combined four runs. The lefty went 5.1 innings recently against the Padres, giving up just two hits while striking out seven. He may not be owned in a high percentage of leagues, but he's on a roll and is a must-start this week.

Blake Snell, Padres (CHC, @COL)

Snell continues to struggle with walks. He now sits with a 1.50 WHIP on the season, leading to a 4.50 ERA. Sure, he had a solid recent start in Miami, but overall the lefty is struggling. This week he faces a tough Cubs offense before heading to Coors Field. With the bad matchups and even worse performance on the season, Snell is a two-start pitcher to avoid this week.

Kyle GibsonDean Kremer, Orioles (@MIL, KC)

I know, I know... it's tough to believe that TWO Baltimore pitchers are making the list this week. However, they both deserve a spot as two-start pitchers this week. Gibson has been solid as of late. Over his last five starts, he has a 3-2 record to go along with a 2.93 ERA. Kremer is 3-1 with a 2.45 ERA in the same number of starts. These aren't the most reliable pitchers, but these righties have two favorable matchups this week. The Royals have a wRC+ of 84 while the Brewers are struggling with a wRC+ of 88. Start the boys in orange and black this week.

Alek Manoah, Blue Jays (HOU, MIN)

If you drafted Manoah this season, you probably want to rip your hair out. He now has a 5.46 ERA to go with a 1.77 WHIP this season. The righty is definitely a two-start pitcher to avoid this week. You should probably continue to bench him until Manoah shows some change.

Tony Gonsolin, Dodgers (@CIN, @PHI)

Gonsolin's matchups this week aren't the most desirable. Both Cincinnati and Philadelphia have solid offenses. Still, Gonsolin should still be started this week. On the season, the righty has a 1.77 ERA and 0.90 WHIP. That'll definitely get the job done.

Hunter Greene, Reds (LAD, @STL)

I'm definitely a long-term believer in Hunter Greene, but this week he should be avoided as a two-start pitcher. The Dodgers and Cardinals are both formidable opponents. To make things worse, the hard-throwing righty has struggled over his last five starts. In that time, he is 1-3 with a 5.46 ERA. He's tough to trust. Bench him this week.
