2023 Fantasy Football QB/TE Streamers

Happy Thanksgiving! Looking at some QB options on waviers while grabbing some morning coffee or in-between bites of mashed potatoes this weekend? Great! I have several 2023 Fantasy Football Week 12 QB/TE Streamers just for you!

But first, recaps of last week. So, when I said you had to be brave and start Tommy DeVito against a questionable Washington secondary, I was expecting a QB16ish performance. No. He ended up as the QB7 overall on the week. 246 passing yards and three touchdowns will do it for you for sure, especially when half the league is starting backups. Or back-backups to the backup, as in the case of the Jets this Friday. Have fun, Tim Boyle!

Matthew Stafford was much less stellar, as in QB24. Can't win them all I guess. Our tight ends weren't so hot either, with Musgrave and Conklin both falling flat. I will give Musgrave a break, however, since he lacerated his kidney during the game and decided to play through it?!? The kid waited till after the game to say he felt some stomach pain. I'd have been carted off in an ambulance.

So, in all, week 11 was a bit rough. I'm proud of myself for the DeVito take, but can't get too puffed up. I expect more out of myself than that! Let's make week 12 amazing!

Quarterbacks

Gardner Minshew vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 9% Rostered

Minshew is back after struggling the previous two weeks before the Colts' bye and is in a get-right spot against Tampa. The Bucs provide a perfect way for Minshew to get back on his feet as a true pass funnel defense. They are surrendering the second most passing yards per game this season and the third most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Minshew may not be the most elite player, but the matchup is there and he has the weapons available to take advantage.

Jake Browning vs. Pittsburgh Steelers - 1.1% Rostered

Usually, we have several good options each week that we can find on waivers. The problem we're having this year is half of the starting quarterbacks in the league are hurt and half of the ones who aren't hurt are hardly worth starting.

Take, for example, Kenny Pickett, Bryce Young, or Zach Wilson before his benching. Or Derek Carr, who I would have put in this space if not for his availability uncertainty. So if you're streaming, it's a tough year. I'll throw some names down as honorable mentions below.

But I wanted to highlight Browning. He only completed 8-of-15 passes against Baltimore,  but he threw a touchdown and didn't turn the ball over. He also exhibited some rushing ability, running for 40 yards on four attempts. Baltimore is one of the hardest matchups for quarterbacks, but at least Pittsburgh is toward the middle of the pack in passing yards and touchdowns allowed. They do force a lot of turnovers, tied for fourth in interceptions with 11 on the season.

The good news for Browning is he has Ja'Marr Chase on his side, plus Tyler Boyd, Trenton Irwin, and Tanner Hudson have come alive in recent weeks. He might not set the world on fire like Mr.DeVito did against the Commanders, but he could have a solid game. Fun fact, Browning finished 6th in Heisman voting in 2016 while at Washington.

Honorable Mentions: Derek Carr vs. ATL, Tommy DeVito vs. NE,

Tight Ends

Cade Otton vs. Indianapolis Colts - 23% Rostered

Otton put together a decent 4-49 stat line on five targets against San Fransisco last week. Indy somehow ranks in the top 10 in yards and receptions allowed to tight ends in 2023 but has allowed only one touchdown to the position. The Colts and Seahawks are the only teams who have allowed fewer than three scores and more than 500 receiving yards to tight ends so far this season. To me, that screams positive regression.

Otton is top-10 among tight ends in red zone targets, receptions, and touchdowns this season. He could be looking at touchdown number four this week.

Tanner Hudson vs. Pittsburgh Steelers - 2% Rostered

I guess I'm going in on the Bengals this week, which feels like such a great thing to do with Joe Burrow out. I hope you sense the sarcasm.

But seriously, Tanner Hudson has been on a bit of a hot streak in the past three games. He's caught 14 of 16 targets for 127 yards in that stretch while playing only about 30% of the offensive snaps.

Cincy uses a heavy tight-end rotation between Hudson, Irv Smith, and Drew Sample, but Hudson has played well enough that he could be in for a larger role going forward. It's not a great matchup but I'm willing to ride the wave this week.

That will do it for our 2023 Fantasy Football Week 12 QB/TE Streamers! Thanks for coming by and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
