Wow, what a ride. It's week 13, and with that comes the 2023 Fantasy Football Week 13 Players to Stash! This will be our last article in this series, but don't worry, if you want to see more from me I'll be writing my weekly QB/TE Streamers article up to championship week!
At this point in the season, if players haven't broken out, they probably aren't going to. I do think there is a difference between players showing "flashes" without breaking out versus plain old "potential". Puka Nacua broke out. Jaxon Smith-Njigba hasn't "broken out", but he has shown potential. Meanwhile, Quinten Johnston hasn't broken out or shown potential. This being our last article, I want to focus on the fantasy playoffs. So, I'm bringing who I think have shown potential for more and could be valuable down the stretch run.
Let's get into the Week 13 stashes!
2023 Fantasy Football Week 13 Players to Stash
If you are already a member, sign in.
Tyler Allgeier, RB, Atlanta Falcons
Allgeier has a fairly easy end-of-season schedule after their matchup against the Jets on Sunday. He's the RB43 in points per game, which isn't bad for a backup role. If Bijan Robinson were to go down to injury, Allgeier has shown the ability to put up decent games when Bijan misses time (such as against Tampa). Plus, we saw him putting up numbers all of last year.
Roschon Johnson, RB, Chicago Bears
Johnson has been playing second fiddle all season to Khalil Herbert and D'Onta Foreman, which is sad because he did the same thing in college behind Bijan Robinson. He had season-highs in snap percentage and touches, with 74% and 15 respectively against the Vikings on that ugly Monday night football game. His receiving usage is encouraging, and he faces Cleveland, Arizona, and Atlanta in the fantasy playoffs.
Elijah Mitchell, RB, San Fransisco 49ers
It's not been the season I expected for Mitchell, but so be it. He's in the same vein as Allgeier, a back who can put up solid numbers should the starter go down. The main difference is that Mitchell plays for an elite 49ers offense. His value is depressed while Christian McCaffrey is healthy, but in the unfortunate event CMC suffers an injury, he could win you a league.
Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks, WR, Green Bay Packers
Reed is close to being out of the stash category, being rostered in close to 50% of leagues. Wicks is barely rostered. But, I wanted to mention Reed here one last time. He's been the most consistent wideout for the Packers in recent weeks and Wicks has shown up when others (cough cough Christian Watson) have struggled. The Packers get to play the imploding Giants, struggling Buccaneers, imploding Panthers, and the struggling Vikings in week 17. A lot of imploding and struggling up ahead, so that's great news for us!
Khalil Shakir, WR, Buffalo Bills
The Bills are going to be in a lot of passing situations to close out the season, and Shakir has come alive towards the end of his sophomore pro season. He's seen at least four targets and scored six half-PPR points in five of his last six games. One of those was a massive Gabe Davis type of game, where he caught three passes for 115 yards and a score.
Juwan Johnson, TE, New Orleans Saints
The Saints are depleted behind Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave. Michael Thomas is out (once again, shocker) as well as speedster Rashid Shaheed. Johnson has seen at least five targets in two of his past three games. If you're in need of a tight-end, there are worse options for you to go with.
Tucker Kraft, TE, Green Bay Packers
Yet another Packer finds their way onto this list. Kraft has seen an uptick in work thanks to Luke Musgrave being knocked out of action. His target shares are nothing to write home about, but as he becomes more acclimated to the starting offense he could see his workload increase.
That is going to do it for this week's 2023 Fantasy Football Week 13 Players to Stash! It's been a fun ride bringing you stash options this season, and I hope you enjoyed it as well!
