Welcome to our 2023 Fantasy Football Week 13 Trade Targets article.
We're pretty much getting to last call folks. Soon the only way you'll be able to improve your team for the playoff run is through the waiver wire.
Some of you need to win out just to make the playoffs - there is no margin for error. Some of you have a playoff spot sealed up and are trying to seal up a first-round bye. Others know they'll be in the playoffs, but are not feeling good when they stack their team up against some of the others.
Wherever you fall on that spectrum, I don't know many teams that feel they can "afford" to lose in the coming weeks. So don't let your trade deadline pass without an honest assessment of your team, the matchups you're facing, the bye weeks in the next couple of weeks, and sizing up your competition's upcoming issues.
Week 13 is a brutal bye week with six teams not playing. We're talking about Buffalo, Baltimore, Minnesota, Las Vegas, New York Giants, and Chicago. You have to be looking at how you're getting through this week, especially if Week 14 is meaningless if you don't.
Time is of the essence here and you need to be in survival mode. Don't just send the trade proposal through your league's service provider. Be proactive. Speak to the owner, text them, or email them. Follow up and do everything you need to do to try to make it happen. Be adaptable and go in with a reasonable offer even if it isn't your best offer.
As much as I'm telling you to go make a trade, I don't want you to make a trade for the sake of doing so. I've said it before and I'll say it again, sometimes it's the trades you don't make that help you win. You have to be the judge on this, you are the one who knows your team context.
With that said and understood...let's go get something done!
Here are some trade targets you should be looking to acquire before Week 13.

Buy Low Trade Targets
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions
You shouldn't really be able to "buy low" on Jahmyr Gibbs, but he had a down week where he was outperformed by David Montgomery, who also looks very good.
I believe they are both going to be productive and this is one of the few offenses that will be able to support 2 top 15 RBs. I'm a Montgomery owner in a couple of leagues and I'm definitely happy with him, but I'll tell you this...I want Gibbs. When they were playing from behind in Thursday's game, it was Gibbs who was on the field, not Montgomery.
The truth is we're seeing their role in situations be interchangeable, so the next time it could be Montgomery. In fact, it was Montgomery who was on the field and got the game-winning TD last week to complete their impressive comeback.
While there were plays where Gibbs was unable to gain more than a few yards toward the end in key situations, Gibbs is just explosive. Earlier in the season when he was not getting the usage, that explosiveness was of little consequence, but this is a full-blown 50/50 split.
Don't waste your time trying to get him as a "buy low" this week, I just think that maybe there's a chance his owner could be open to moving him depending on their situation. Be prepared to pay market value, but I love Gibbs as one of my big trade targets this week to bolster my team for a deep playoff run.
