2023 Fantasy Football Week 16 Drop List

Welcome to the 2023 Fantasy Football Week 16 Drop List.

The fantasy playoffs are in full swing. That means it is time to get those rosters in shape for the championship game. As always, I'm here to tell you who to kick (like a bad habit) off your fantasy roster. I will also name a few players that should be rostered instead.

*For more in-depth waiver advice, check out the waiver-wire article/video here at F6P.*

Now, let's recap last week's results. I suggested you drop these players.

  • Jerry Jeudy, WR, Denver Broncos¬†(7/3-74-0, 10 FPTS)
    - Week 15 was only the second game where he has scored 10+ FPTS in the past six games.
    - 7/13 games with 10 or fewer fantasy points.
  • Khalil Herbert, RB, Chicago Bears (6-8-0, 1/1-4-0, 1 FPTS)
    - Five straight games where Herbert has failed to score more than 8 fantasy points.
    - Only 2/9 games with 10+ fantasy points.
  • Joshua Dobbs, QB, Minnesota Vikings
    - (Benched in Week 14, DNS in Week 15)

It looks like a good week to me.

We did have two players that landed "on the bubble" last week. Gus Edwards has escaped the bubble. He must remain on rosters. With the injury to Keaton Mitchell (ACL, season), he should be a mid-RB2.

*Important Note.*

Please drop the IR players that you have on your rosters. Justin Herbert/Tank Dell must be removed from your roster. They aren't coming back, so why even roster them?

Seems odd to me.

Miles Sanders, RB, Carolina Panthers (52.9 %)

WHY?

There is no reason to roster Miles Sanders right now. Let me tell you why real quick.

Miles Sanders has played in 13 games. In ten of those games ten straight), Sanders has failed to reach ten fantasy points. He has been an RB4 or worse in eight of 13 games. The snap percentage is getting dicey as well. He has now failed to play in 30+ % of the snaps in back-to-back games.

Dameon Pierce, RB, Houston Texans (65.9 %)

Let's make this quick, shall we?

I mentioned him before (just like Miles Sanders), but it seems like it hasn't stuck yet.

In Week 15, Pierce only rushed the ball once for three yards (RB74). Dameon Pierce also saw a season-low snap percentage of 5%. Yes! You read that correctly.

5%.

It gets worse. In five of his last six games, Pierce has been an RB47 or lower and has failed to score 10+ FPTS in seven of his 11 games played.

Another Commander Down

Jahan Dotson, WR, Washington Commanders (52.9 %)

Well, the 2023 breakout did not happen as we expected. It's been a year to forget for Jahan Dotson.

This is going to be a lot, so let's make this easier to read.

The downfall of Jahan Dotson's 2023 season:

  • Six targets in the last two games (1 in Week 15).
  • In four of his last five games, he has finished outside the top-36 among WRs. Three of those were outside of the top 55.
  • In 14 games played in the 2023 season, Dotson has finished outside the top 40 of WRs in 71% of his games.
  • Half of his games have been under 10 FPTS.
  • THREE games as a WR80 or worse.

He is no longer worthy of being in starting lineups. To be honest, he doesn't even deserve to be rostered. Drop him and don't look back.

Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts (45.6 %)

It's just not trustworthy enough to even roster at this point. I will give him one more week but don't expect him to make his way off this list.

In Week 15, Downs only caught three balls (3 targets) for 19 yards. To make matters worse, his snap percentage was at 58 % (lowest since Week 1).

It's now been six straight games where he has failed to score 10+ FPTS and finished outside of the top 44 in those six games.

Kareem Hunt, RB, Cleveland Browns (45.7 %)

Well, now we know why nobody was signing Kareem Hunt. He's washed.

Kareem Hunt is sitting at a career-low YPC (3.1). His career average is 4.2 YPC. His snap percentage has dropped down to 32%, and Jerome Ford has taken the majority of the snaps. Kareem Hunt has failed to score 10+ FPTS in six of his last seven games. Two of his last four games have him finishing outside the top 50 among RBs.

That should do it for the 2023 Fantasy Football Week 16 Drop List. I will see you all next week for the last edition of the drop list.
