It's time for my column exploring the best 2023 IDP fantasy football matchups of Week 13.
DaRon Bland already got Week 13 started for IDP fantasy football with another interception! It was his eighth interception of the season and his fourth straight game with an interception.
However, disappointingly, Bland did not end up in the end zone after the interception. It was only his third interception that he did not return for a touchdown. IDP managers who started him this week will have to be content with just the points for the pick.
Now we get to my Week 13 IDP matchup previews and recommendations. These are the the DL, LB, and DBs you should target to start and stream.

Best Defensive Line Matchups
Browns DL vs Rams OL
The Rams have one of the eight worst sack rates allowed of all teams playing this week, and the Browns have the highest sack rate of all. PFF ranks the Browns defensive line as having the second-largest advantage over the opposing offensive line of any Week 13 matchup.
Myles Garrett has been a Defensive Player of the Year candidate. Although he had an off week in the Browns' loss to the Broncos last week, prior to that, he had made sacks in five straight games.
LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah - 93.6
DE Za’Darius Smith - 79.9
DE Alex Wright - 74.8
LB Sione Takitaki - 69.0
DT Maurice Hurst - 62.5 pic.twitter.com/UwYGSftLgb

Fellow defensive end Za'Darius Smith did not make a sack until Week 6, but since then he made 1.5 sacks and six QB hits. Those are still not elite numbers, but that kind of production is good enough to make an impact in deep leagues.
Must Start: DE Myles Garrett
Dolphins DL vs Commanders OL
The Commanders offensive line is alternating between the worst and second-worst positions for both sack percentage allowed and total sacks. In terms of average scoring allowed, the Commanders are the third-most favorable matchup for fantasy defensive ends and the single-most favorable matchup for fantasy defensive tackles.
Dolphins edge rusher Jaelan Phillips just had surgery that is going to make him have to miss significant time. That means Andrew Van Ginkel will play a lot of snaps at defensive end. Van Ginkel has boomed when he plays on the defensive line.
Jets DL vs Falcons OL
The Falcons are the seventh-most favorable matchup for opposing fantasy defensive ends by average scoring. They're ranked as a top 10 overall offensive line by PFF, but their pass blocking grade is significantly lower than their run blocking grade. The Jets have a variety of defensive linement who may be available as free agents.
If Bryce Huff were a WR, I’d be praising this pass rush for its read step and wipe…

Best Linebacker Matchups
Texans LBs vs Broncos
Russell Wilson targets 20% of his passes to the short middle of the field where linebackers are usually going to be in pass coverage. That gives opposing linebackers more chances to make pass breakups and tackles on completions. As such, opposing linebackers are scoring more points against the Broncos than against any other team.
Texans linebacker Blake Cashman has been one of the best breakout players of the season on either side of the ball. He has already made 78 combined tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks. He is good at making plays on the ball, too, as he has made five pass breakups and an interception.
Quality Starter: LB Blake Cashman
Quality Streamer: LB Christian Harris
Rams LBs vs Browns
While the Broncos are letting IDP linebackers pile up tackles on passing plays, the Browns are the opposite. They are trying not to throw the ball with their QB room decimated. Joe Flacco will probably start for the Browns this week (which will probably be better for them than Dorian Thompson-Robinson), as DTR is still in concussion protocol.

So the Browns are running the ball 33.4 times per game, the most in the league, and opposing linebackers are averaging a cumulative 36 points per game in the IDP Guys Invitational scoring system, the second-most in the league.
Must Start: LB Ernest Jones
Quality Streamer: LB Byron Young
Other Good LB Matchups
- Broncos LBs vs Texans
- Jaguars LBs vs Bengals
- Niners LBs vs Eagles
Best Defensive Back Matchups
Bucs DBs vs Panthers QB + WRs
In terms of average points, this matchup ranks as the seventh-best for cornerbacks. It's only the eleventh-best for safeties, which is still better than average. The Buccaneers cornerbacks have significant advantages in coverage against all Panthers receivers except Adam Thielen. Even if Thielen beats then, those plays would be good opportunities to make tackles.
Antoine Winfield’s continued success and ascension as one of the best safeties in the league.

Commanders DBs vs Dolphins QB + WRs
With an over/under projection of 49.5, this should be the highest-scoring game of the week. The Miami offense and the Washington defense combines for the highest total yards per attempt of all offense-defense combinations this week.
Miami always throws the ball a lot. They are heavy (9.5 points) favorites, but they have been underperforming lately. Besides, they still throw the ball a lot even when they are leading. Commanders corners and safeties will have a lot of opportunities.
