Our end of the year, 2023 NFL Mock Draft: College Football Playoff Update is live!
Welcome to the 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Championship Week Update. The top of the 2023 NFL Draft is shaping up very differently compared to last season. The quarterback class is projected to be much better and we could see three, maybe even four quarterbacks drafted in the first round!
The Houston Texans are in a great spot as it stands right now. With picks one and 10, they could walk away with a Franchise QB (Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud) of their choosing and his new WR1 (Quentin Johnston, Jordan Addison) to boot.
You could argue that the Detroit Lions need a franchise QB and that Jared Goff is still just a bridge. However, the offense has been one of the best in the NFL and they are about to add Jameson Williams to Amon-Ra St. Brown at the wide receiver position! It will be very interesting to watch how this all plays out. Goff carries a $30 mil cap hit for each of the next two seasons if the Lions do not cut/trade him.
Penn State offensive lineman Olu Fashanu was a mid-first-round pick in both mock drafts below but has decided to return to school.
Kayshon Boutte has announced that he will not enter the NFL Draft.

As we enter NFL Week 13, picks 2-15 will continue to shuffle each week as nearly half of the league has a losing record.

Keith's Quick Thoughts (@WeTlkFntsySprts)
- The Lions need to do their homework this offseason to know if Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud can be their Franchise QB or if they want to roll with Goff for one more year and target Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.
- I am not a huge fan of Will Levis but the Colts need to find a solution to the revolving door at QB.
- I don't disagree that the Seahawks need to fix their defense, but adding Njigba in the slot between D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett would give Geno Smith, or whatever QB is under center in 2023 and beyond, one of the best pass-catching trios in the NFL! A luxury Seattle can spoil themselves with thanks to the Denver Broncos.
- Do the Bengals need a first-round TE? No. Would Michael Mayer joining Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon in the Bengals offense just be hella fun? Yes.
- The New York Football Giants are in a good position towards the bottom half of the draft when it comes to a position of need - WR. Just about any player that they choose is a HUGE upgrade on their current depth chart. The same can be said for the Tennessee Titans.
- I don't see a perfect fit for Bijan Robinson in the first round as the running back position has seemingly started to lose value in the NFL but pairing him with Javonte Williams (recovering from injury) seems like a good fit despite all the needs on the Broncos roster.
Jon's Quick Thoughts (@JPW2542)
- Three QBs may very well go in the first round Young, Levis, and Stroud. All three are more than capable of being franchise QBs and starting week one.
- At two, with Justin Fields already in the fold, the Bears elect to take the best defensive player on the board. Will Anderson is a terror on the field and will make the Bears fans forget about Khalil Mack.
- If the Giants let Barkley walk, they could look at taking Bijan Robinson to replace him. Robinson is an elite prospect and a complete back.
