Welcome to the 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Combine Update.
Since our last update prior to the Super Bowl, a lot has happened around the league surrounding the 2023 NFL Draft. And today is the first day of NFL Free Agency!
Most importantly, the Chicago Bears traded the number one overall pick to the Carolina Panthers! In exchange, the Bears received a WR1 for Justin Field in D.J. Moore, along with the 8th overall pick in this year's draft, the 61st overall pick and two future picks - a 2024 1st-Round Pick and a 2025 2nd-Round Pick.
The question still remains - which quarterback will be selected first overall?
Anthony Richardson showcased his superior athletic ability at the NFL Combine but Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud are the safer, more polished QBs.
In other quarterback news, Derek Carr was released by the Las Vegas Raiders and signed with the New Orleans Saints. The way things are currently shaping up, the Raiders are likely to select whichever quarterback falls to them at pick seven, most likely Will Levis. It would be shocking if they went in a different direction.
The Raiders signed Jimmy G on day one of free agency. This should not impact their draft pick. They also have traded Dareen Waller to the New York Giants and signed WR Jakobi Meyers!
And last but not least on the QB front, Aaron Rodgers is looking more and more likely to be playing for a new team in 2023 as the Green Bay Packers look to find a trade partner. The New York Jets are currently the rumored favorites to land the future Hall Of Fame quarterback.

Keith's Quick Thoughts (@WeTlkFntsySprts)
- I understand why the Panthers would go all in on a Franchise QB in this draft class, with Young and Stroud at the top of their draft board, but I am not sure that Anthony Richardson is the guy to hang your hat on. I would much rather rely on a year's worth of game film, which saw his stock fall to the end of the first round throughout the season
- The Falcons/Bears/Eagles picks at 8/9/10 will be very interesting as all three teams can go a handful of ways with these picks. They could have a huge impact on how the middle of the first round plays out
- Quentin Johnston has been my WR1 all Mock Draft season, but pairing Stroud with Jaxson Smith-Njigba again, alongside Brandin Cooks and now Roberts Woods seems like the perfect day one for the Houston Texans
- It'll be quite hilarious to witness the Green bay Packers draft QB Jordan Love another WR in the first round (Christian Watson in n2022) after years of ignoring that need for Aaron Rodgers
- The Detroit Lions can really do themselves a favor on draft night by adding two pieces to their defense in Tyree Wilson and Joey Porter Jr. The same can be said for the Seattle Seahawks, adding Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith on draft night
- Plenty of mocks have the Los Angeles Chargers adding a pass catcher (WR or TE) but I think it would be a wise decision to focus on shoring up their defense on day one and adding offensive weapons later in the draft
- As a New York Football Giants fan, I can only pray that Jordan Addison is available when we are on the clock. You can't give Daniel Jones that contract extension and then not provide him with a new target. I would be ok with Zay Flowers here as well, should Addison be off the board already
- As a New York Football Giants fan, it pains me continuously mock Bijan Robinson to the Dallas Cowboys
or Philadelphia Eagles, but it seems inevitable unfortunately- With the Eagles signing Rashaad Penny, it is highly unlikely they will draft a running back in the first round
Jon's Quick Thoughts (@JPW2542)
- I think four quarterbacks go in the first five picks and in no order. Seattle can be out of the Geno Smith deal after one year, so they can take the flier on Anthony Richardson. He can sit a year and learn the game before taking over the starting role in 2024
- So far this offseason, the Giants have sunk a lot of money into the offensive side of the ball in both Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley. It makes a lot of sense to draft an offensive lineman to help protect both of their prized possessions
- The Eagles are set to potentially lose a lot on the defensive side of the ball in free agency. Drew Sanders can start week one for them and would be the perfect replacement for T.J. Edwards.
