Welcome to the 2023 NFL Mock Draft: Top 10 Picks. The top of the 2023 NFL Draft is shaping up very differently compared to last season. The quarterback class is projected to be much better and we could see four quarterbacks drafted in the top 10 picks!
The Carolina Panthers have tried every which way to land a franchise quarterback, trading for Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield in back-to-back years while failing to land Deshaun Watson in a trade. Now they will have their pick of C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, Will Levis and Hendon Hooker. They better do their homework and get it right this time!
You could argue that the Detroit Lions need a franchise QB and that Jared Goff is still just a bridge. However, the offense has been one of the best in the NFL and they are about to add Jameson Williams to Amon-Ra St. Brown at the wide receiver position! It will be very interesting to watch how this all plays out. Goff carries a $30 mil cap hit for each of the next two seasons if the Lions do not cut/trade him.
The Houston Texans are in a great spot as it stands right now. With picks four and six, they can "reach" for the player they want at pick four, allow the Philadelphia Eagles to either use the New Orleans Saints pick on a non-QB or trade it to a team that is looking to move up to draft a quarterback and then Houston can select whichever of the four quarterbacks remaining they have at the top of their draft board.
Geno Smith is playing out of his mind right now and is in a contract year. However, you have to imagine that the Seattle Seahawks will look to spend their money elsewhere as they continue to rebuild their roster. We could see them either trade up with Philly to take their guy ahead of the Texans or just roll with whatever quarterback is left at pick seven.
As we enter NFL Week 7, the top 10 rounds out with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals and Jacksonville Jaguars. All three teams have their franchise quarterback in place and will look to fill some holes on the depth chart.

Jon's Quick Thoughts (@JPW2542)
- Bijan Robinson may be a luxury pick here but the Eagles are pretty well set at most of the skilled positions so adding a generational running back to a potent offense makes sense
- If you are a Texans fan and you walk out of the draft with Young and Addison you are screaming for joy at the top of your lungs. Both players can step in on day 1 and have an immediate impact
- Vegas could opt to go offense at 2 but if Will Anderson is sitting there, they should run to the podium. He is a difference-maker on defense and the Raiders have been lacking that since they let Khalil Mack go
- Both Arizona and Jacksonville have multiple needs but so far this season their main weakness has been on the defensive side of the ball. Adding top talent to their defense should yield immediate results
