2024 PGA DFS Wells Fargo DraftKings and Betting Preview

2024 PGA DFS Wells Fargo DraftKings and Betting Preview

The last event before next week's PGA Championship ironically takes place at the home of the 2025 PGA Championship Quail Hollow. This brings me to my 2024 PGA DFS Wells Fargo DraftKings and Betting Preview.

I've always considered myself a huge golf fan. Someone who watches every event no matter the field. The 2024 PGA Tour season has tested my fandom due to lackluster leaderboards and fields recently. In fairness to the PGA Tour the last two events were sandwiched between two signature events and two majors.

However, the lack of star power and name recognition on the PGA Tour was never more evident than in the last two weeks. I watched very little of the two-man event and even less of the Byron Nelson. If you watched a majority of both events congrats you are officially a diehard professional golf fan.

It feels like non-major events are becoming less significant on the PGA Tour each passing week. They need to shift the tide and feeling with the Wells Fargo and next week's PGA Championship. The field this week has every big name on Tour except Scottie Scheffler. Who should become a dad any day now.

Next week's PGA Championship will include the best players' in the world from both the LIV and PGA Tour. I can say that with confidence knowing Taylor Gooch has been extended an invitation from the PGA of America. Professional golf needs a good event this week and an even better one at the PGA Championship.

Luckily the PGA Championship is takes place at Valhalla. Where the last two majors played there were won by the biggest stars in the game at that time. Tiger Woods won there in 2000 in a playoff versus Bob May. Rory McIlroy raced against darkness in his 2014 win.

Venue (Quail Hollow)

Quail Hollow is a championship-level layout and host of the 2025 PGA Championship. Making it a perfect final stop prior to the PGA Championship at Valhalla next week.

Measuring 7,558 yards, Quail Hollow is a tree-lined par-71 layout. It is both the third longest and fifth toughest scoring course in the annual PGA Tour rotation. Quail Hollow also features the sixth longest combined par 4s and par 5s on Tour.

Players have only five scoring holes at Quail Hollow. The three par 5s and two semi-drivable par 4s. The remaining 13 holes all average over par.

The course features tree-lined fairways, well placed water hazards, with firm and fast greens. Quail Hollow tests players skills from tee-to-green. This week I'm targeting players who are long off the tee, great ball strikers, excel on approaches from 175+ yards, and have a proven record at this venue or other difficult comp courses on Tour.
