2022 Fantasy Football Week 10 Reaction

I'm back for another week of Bond's Banter. This week I'm going to be giving my 2022 Fantasy Football Week 12 Reaction.

If you don't want to read my reaction and would rather watch one, catch Mike LaPlant and Dylan Clemons on The Last Call. There they give their quick reaction to the day's games.

I hope everybody enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend. I know I did and now need to put in a few extra hours in the gym to burn off all the food I ate all weekend.

I'm writing this article bit later than expected this week. Usually is it out during the day on Monday, but I'm writing it Monday night instead of Monday morning thanks to my kids being home from school unexpectedly.  This was thanks to a small plane crashing into power lines in the county I live in knocking out power in much of the area. Thankfully everyone is safe and things appear to be back to normal, mostly.

Back to football. We had some fantastic football games in Week 12. The Thanksgiving Day games were fantastic as well as the Sunday games. Including the Thursday games there were 10 games decided by a single score. We had two, almost four, games go into OT. The third was a last-second score by the Jags and they went for two to win the game. The fourth was the Chargers who won by the same fashion.

Week 12 Reaction Early Games

Buccaneers 17 - Browns 23

Just as it looked like Tom Brady and the Bucs were starting to figure things out, they go and take a loss on the road to the Browns.

It was just another average game for the Bucs offense overall. Sure Rachaad White got you 109 total offensive yard and nine receptions (thank you PPR) and Chris Godwin went 12-110, but the rest of the team did not impress.

Jacoby Brissett looked solid in what looks like his last start for the Browns as Deshaun Watson is expected to start next week. I think he is far from the worst starter in this league and deserves a chance

By the way this catch by Njoku to tie the game... ridiculous.

Bengals 20 - Titans 16

Outside of Tee Higgins going off for 7-114-1 there wasn't really much to love from fantasy side of things

What I will say is look out, the Bengals have won three straight and are going to be getting Ja'Marr Chase back next week. After Week 12 last season the Bengals were 7-4 and are that exact record this season.

I'm not saying they will be headed to the Super Bowl, but things appear to be trending up for them and should be a feared team come playoff time.

Texans 15 - Dolphins 30

This game was over in a hurry as the Dolphins put up 30 points in the first half. Unfortunately, it did not lead to great fantasy production from Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill and Jeff Wilson Jr.

This was in part because they were held to three field goals and Xavien Howard returned a fumble for a touchdown. Then in the second half the Dolphins quickly pulled their offensive starters.

The Texans were bad in this one, despite scoring 15 points. The change to Kyle Allen did not result in any better results offensively for this team and I would not expect much better moving foward.

This is most concerning for Dameon Pierce, who now two weeks in a row has not done much of anything. This is in large part due to the Texans falling behind quickly and early. When this happens the Texans go away from their running game and rely on their more pass-catching back, Dare Ogunbowale.

Hopefully, they can stay in games longer moving, but honestly looking at the schedule I'm not sure how realistic that is for most of their games.

Bears 10 - Jets 31

Mike White does it again! Two seasons in a row now White has started in place of Zach Wilson and performed fantastically. Now we have to take this one with a grain of salt, cause it is against the Bears, but you can't ignore 315 and three touchdowns no matter who the opponent is.

Garrett Wilson blew up for 5-95-2 and even Elijah Moore found the endzone... finally!

For the Bears, as expected the offense fell flat without Justin Fields who is dealing with a separated shoulder.

Falcons 13 - Commanders 19

The Commanders just seem to keep finding ways to win games, now six of their last seven.

Brian Robinson was the story here as he rushed for over 100 yards for the first time in his short career. He even caught a touchdown as well.

Same old story for the Falcons. Passing game can't get going so it limits the upside of the offense tremendously. Mariota usually gets at least one touchdown a game, fantasy managers just have to hope it goes to Drake London or Cordarrelle Patterson, if you are forced using them.

Broncos 10 - Panthers 23

There really isn't much else to say about this Broncos offense anymore. They are 27th in total yards this season and they were not able to get anything going against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. I guess at least their defense has something to say about it...

Carolina on the other hand actually looked pretty good against one of the better defenses in the league. D'Onta Foreman was able to take advantage of it for 113 yards, while D.J. Moore also came to life with 103 and a touchdown.

Sam Darnold may not be a fantasy starter, but Moore might be back in the mix with him under center.

Ravens 27 - Jaguars 28

Ravens were up 19-10 with 13:07 left, easy win right? OK, fine Jags went on a run, but then Ravens score to go up seven with 2:02 left. Again they got this, right?

Nope, instead, the Ravens lost their third game this season when they had a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. That ties an NFL record for losses like that.

Perhaps it's just bad luck and they figure it out come playoff time, but something doesn't sit right with me and these losses. They are missing that closing factor.

Trevor Lawrence looked incredible in this comeback effort. He was throwing guys open, making great decisions on his way to a 321-yard, three-touchdown game. This was without Travis Etienne for much of the game as he left early with a foot injury. Lawrence looked every part the quarterback we all thought he was as the first overall pick in 2021.

Week 12 Reaction Late Games

Chargers 25 - Cardinals 24

This game was so fun to watch. Pretty much back and forth all game long, capped off by a Austin Ekeler touchdown with 15 seconds left. Then the Chargers won the game by going for two instead of the tie. Gutsy call, but it paid off.

Ekeler didn't do much on the ground, but once again was amazing in the passing game, catching 11 for 60 and the game-winning touchdown. He is on pace to do amazing things... again.

The Cards got back Kyler Murray and he looked just fine. Threw for just 191, but was able to run for 56 and a touchdown. Great to see since he was out with a hamstring injury and you just never know how those are going to react.

James Conner since returning from injury has just gotten better and better. He had 140 offensive yards and a touchdown (receiving). It is clear this backfield is his once again.

Great to see Marquise Brown get back into things as well. He returned to put up a 6-46 line with eight targets.

Raiders 40 - Seahawks 34

Was anybody else playing this game besides Josh Jacobs? At times it didn't seem like it.

The man put up 303 total yards (229 rushing, 74 receiving) and two touchdowns. Jacobs capped off the game in OT with a 86-yard touchdown run. This propelled him to finish the day with a staggering 45.3 half-ppr points.

It is crazy what he is doing. This is a guy who didn't have his fifth-year picked up by the Raiders and is playing for a team likely playing for nothing. All that and this man is balling out, easily having his best season.

Rams 10 - Chiefs 26

Honestly this game was boring. The Rams had no Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp or Allen Robinson. Instead, they started undrafted rookie from UVa, Bryce Perkins and their WR1 was Van Jefferson.

Sure Patrick Mahomes threw for 320 yards and one touchdown to Travis Kelce, of course. However, there just wasn't a lot to go on as they seemed to just sleepwalk to victory against the Rams.

A good story though is Isiah Pacheco was able to get into the endzone. Great to see the 22 carries, but no involvement in the passing game really limits his upside. Hmm.... where have we heard that before?

Saints 0 - 49ers 13

A lot to unpack here and to save time, I'm going to use bullet points.

  1. Saints have to figure out a way to get Alvin Kamara the ball more and better running lanes if they want a chance to win.
  2. Elijah Mitchell is out 6-8 weeks so it is all on Christian McCaffrey now you would think, however...
  3. CMC is dealing with knee irritation and is DTD. He also has not been great since the game against the Rams.
  4. Deebo Samuel disappeared once again. So talented and its almost impossible to sit him, but this is frustrating.
  5. I really don't know how the 49ers move on from Jimmy Garoppolo. All this man does is win for the 49ers. I get it is not really because of him, but he isn't losing games for them either.

Packers 33 - Eagles 40

This game had so much offense and was way more exciting to watch than I thought it would be.

Jalen Hurts only threw for 153 yards, but did also throw two touchdowns. However, he rushed for the fourth most yards by a quarterback in a regular season game with 157.

Miles Sanders was also incredible rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns. That gives him six on the season. Remember when he was falling in drafts because he had zero touchdowns last season? Yeah we all look pretty stupid for that now don't we.

All that and the biggest news coming out of this game is the injury to Aaron Rodgers. He was already dealing with a broken thumb, but he was knocked out of the game with what appears to be a rib injury.

Rodgers says he will play if he can, but if not, we are going to get to see Jordan Love get some extended work the rest of the way. At least for this game he looked good going 6-for-9 for 113 yards and a touchdown, a 63-yard strike to Christian Watson who is fast.

I'm not sure what to expect from the Packers offense if we get Jordan Love, but hey we were saying this about Aaron Rodgers back in 2007 too when he came in for an injured Brett Favre. I'm not saying its gonna happen, but I'm also saying maybe.
