Welcome to the Bottom of the Barrel 2023 NFL DFS Week 13 QB Edition!
Hello and welcome to Week 13 of the NFL season and that weird time gap where we should be working and doing stuff but don’t feel like it. It’s also that window in time where productivity takes a major nosedive as most people are already on Christmas vacation in their mind. If I could use my imagination and be anywhere on Earth trust me, it would not be Christmas vacation!
Week 13 of the NFL season is here already like a cold autumn night that gets dark at 5p in the afternoon. I speak from experience! Grab a blanket and some warm socks and let's get to the Bottom of the Barrel!
Bottom of the Barrel 2023 NFL DFS Week 13 QB
Jalen Hurts Eagles vs. 49ers(3rd)
Studs will be studs. I am talking about Jason Kelce to be clear. Sure, Jalen delivered the football into the endzone to beat Buffalo in overtime, but the big man up front made the block that got him there.
This week we are looking at a heavyweight championship fight. By standings alone, these are the two best teams in the NFC. I am not looking for a fight on this. I fully understand Dallas and Detroit are in play too. For the sake of this argument, it’s Philly and Frisco.
Daily fantasy sports and overall betting aside can’t we look upon this game in awe? Understand the significance of it all? We don’t do that much anymore. I think it is time we get back to that.
Come to find out Hurts is the all-time QB leader in games with multiple rushing scores. So, 300 all-purpose yards with a trio of touchdowns shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
Sam Howell Commanders vs. Dolphins(18th)
Howell has been fantastic in the last five games. Sam has thrown for 300, or more, yards in 4 of his last 5 games. Not to mention 21 total touchdowns. Like it or not Sam Howell is a QB1 in the fantasy football realm.
Miami is legit on both sides of the ball. When I think of the Dolphins I think of offense. A crazy and powerful offense. Kind of like the Wizard of Oz. Yet, last week they had 7 sacks, 2 fumbles, and a touchdown.
So, Sam Howell finds himself in some hot water this week. Which is why he should be on our radar. I am thinking 27-28 completions, 285 yards, and a pair of touchdown passes.
Russell Wilson Broncos at Texans(23rd)
Something seems all right in the world when Russell Wilson is playing well. Suddenly, the Broncos have stepped up to become major players in the AFC Wild Card race. The team isn’t asking Russ to do too much with his arm these days. He hasn’t eclipsed 200 yards passing in six of the last seven games.
This is all well and good given his 20-4 TD-to-interception ratio in the last 11 games. With Sutton, Jerry, Javonte, and now Adam Trautman at his disposal it bodes well for his Week 13 outlook.
The Houston Texans are giving up the third most points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Look for Wilson to finally get over the 200-yard passing yard hump as he tosses two touchdown passes.
