Welcome to the Bottom of the Barrel 2023 NFL DFS Week 13 RB Edition!

As a little boy, I just assumed everyone had to deal with cold, gray, and snowy nights during the fall and winter. As I grew older, I found out it was a choice made by the adults to live in these kinds of areas! Then, once my father told me I moved out and paid my bills, I could live anywhere I wanted to! Guess what? I stayed in Michigan.

We always have a choice. Quite frankly, I love having all four seasons. Each one brings its little fun. The same can be said for fantasy football and daily fantasy sports. There are thousands of accounts, websites, podcasts, and people currently seeking your attention right now! Looking to help with start and sit stuff. To help you groom your rosters with waiver wire additions and trades.

Guess what? You always have a choice. You are always able to make your own decisions. This whole fantasy football thing is 99.9% about seeking approval and reassurance we are doing the right thing. Yet, you are here reading Bottom of the Barrel. For that I thank you. Still a lot of work to be done but I wanted to stop and show my gratitude.

Let’s chat about the running back position in Week 13. It is a bright spot for the entire week! There are several meaty plays to be had. Lots of beef and lots of volume! Here we are for Week 13’s Bottom of the Barrel running backs!

Christian McCaffrey 49ers at Eagles(1st)

The human touchdown machine keeps on rolling! It is a true thing! While Christian is a human being and a damn fine man he continues to be a set-it-and-forget-it type player. He needs to be used in seasonal formats, daily fantasy sports, and all prop betting schemes.

CMC has also scored 29 total touchdowns since joining the 49ers last season including playoffs, which is the the third-most by a player in his first 25 games with a team. CMC is a sight to be seen and in no way willingly faded under any circumstances. Even this week against the Eagles you might briefly hesitate, which is fine, but by the game's end, we can look up and smile!

We can safely expect 110, or more, all-purpose yards with 5-6 receptions to go along with at least one touchdown!

Javonte Williams Broncos at Texans(17th)

Javonte had a hefty workload in Week 12, but the rock-solid Cleveland defense limited him to only 65 yards on 18 carries. While only catching three passes for six yards. Williams is in prime position to hope back on the horse and approach 100 all-purpose yards.

I have Jovonte around 15-16 carries, 70 yards, and his first rushing touchdown of the season! To go along with 3-4 catches for another 20-25 yards.

Jaylen Warren Steelers vs. Cardinals(31st)

No one is perfect. If that was the case, I’d already be a millionaire and long gone. However, last week I decided to fade Jaylen in favor of Najee Harris. Which was well documented in last week's edition of Bottom of the Barrel. It worked out. Which isn’t always the case!

That is the beauty of daily fantasy sports! We can pick and choose our spots and players! This is the week to jump back in on Jaylen Warren. Shoot, toss in Najee Harris too. That’s what kind of party it’s going to be in Pittsburgh!

The Cardinals have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs! Warren should see 11-12 carries for 60 yards. On top of 3-4 receptions for another 25 yards.

Jerome Ford Browns at Rams(7th)

Jerome rushed nine times for 65 yards last week. He also added four receptions for 14 yards. He had a whopping 7.2 yards per carry, but the Browns couldn’t get anything going on offense. Cleveland just couldn't keep any of their drive rolling, not to mention playing from behind.

While the defensive matchup on paper looks grim, I assure you it’s not. The Los Angeles defense is giving up the sixth most fantasy points per game to running backs. The Browns are currently 7-4 and well within the AFC Wild Card standings. The Rams need all the wins they can get. Look for Clevland to feed Ford early and often as they try to right the ship offensively.

Expect Ford to carry the football 13-14 times for 60 yards. He also catches 3-4 passes for an additional 20 yards.

Chuba Hubbard Panthers at Buccaneers(8th)

Hubbard has become a Bottom of the Barrel All-Star this season and I didn’t even see it coming. Who did after they signed Miles Sanders? Last week Chuba rushed 14 times for 45 yards and a touchdown while catching all five of his targets for another 47 yards. It was a brilliant performance!

The Bucs have a stout run defense but oddly I have this feeling they throw Sanders to wolves, not in a harmful way, but to soften them up as Hubbard does his damage through the air. That would be shocking given Bryce Young's struggles but it is Week 13. Normalcy and what we expect to happen are long gone.

Give Chubba 11-12 carries for 50 yards and 4-5 receptions for another 50 yards. So an even 100 yards and his first reception touchdown of the season!
