Dynasty Baseball Under the Radar Prospects

Welcome to the 2nd Dynasty Baseball Under the Radar Prospects, in this edition we will be diving into a couple of Brewers pitching prospects.

This is where I give you all of my secret prospects I have waiting to be added in dynasty leagues when the next spots on my roster open up before anyone else gets involved with them.

In the last edition of this article, we brought you names such as Robert Calaz and Shang-En Lin who have since blown up in dynasty circles. Hopefully, you were able to use this article to get ahead of the curve.

Craig Yoho, RP, Milwaukee Brewers

Relievers aren't often a target early in dynasty. More often than not they become commodities right before they bubble to the surface such as Jordan Leasure this year. But, once in a while you get a prospect that has the kind of absurd raw stuff that gets people buying in early.

Yoho, an 8th Round pick out of Indiana in 2023 has stormed onto the scene in his first full year in the minors. Through 21 appearances he has a 1.27 ERA and a microscopic 0.85 WHIP with 55 K's in 28.1 IP..  He hasn't given up a home run this year and despite some control issues early he has walked just four batters since being promoted to AA.

He has done this by developing a nasty change-up (a common theme among breakout pitchers in 2024) and overhauling an arsenal that didn't have much mileage on it as he converted from position player to reliever fairly late in his college career. Many think he could ladder swiftly through the organization and with Abner Uribe's stumble and injury the door is wide open for Yoho to step up and take over the role as heir to Devin Williams

K.C. Hunt, SP, Milwaukee Brewers

We stay in the Brewers pitching machine but move over to the starters for this one. Hunt originally a 12th Round selection of the Pirates in 2022 opted to go back to Miss St. only to land as a UDFA with the Brewers in 2023.

In 2024 at the time of writing this he has blown the ceiling for his potential right off.  His current marks have him as the following

  • 2nd highest K%(trailing only Craig Yoho) in all of MiLB 42%
  • 2nd highest K-BB% in all of MiLB 36%
  • 99th percentile SwStrk%

The 6'3 righty recently moved into the rotation and through 2 starts has 11.0 IP 4 hits 1 BB and 13 K bringing his overall line to  1.80 ERA 0.70 WHIP 62 K and just 6 BB in 40 IP
