EPL DFS 1-19-19 FanDuel Picks

We are into Matchday 23 in the English Premier League!

If you are only playing one day of EPL DFS this weekend, you should be targeting Saturday as the slate has a considerably higher amount of value.

Sunday’s two games see two top three teams play the bottom two teams.

EPL DFS 1-19-19 FanDuel Picks

Seven Game Saturday Slate

Burnley @ Watford
Brighton @ Manchester United
Cardiff @ Newcastle
West Ham @ Bournemouth
Crystal Palace @ Liverpool
Everton @ Southampton
Chelsea @ Arsenal

High salary player picks

Eden Hazard (26 FPP) 2.74 X, 6.3% Cap hit
Paul Pogba – (26.6 FPP) 2.6 X, 17% Cap hit
Mohamed Salah – (27.4 FPP) 2.1 X, 20% Cap hit
Allison – (17 FPP) 2.6 X, 9.2% Cap hit

Eden Hazard has the highest projected X value for a high salary player on FanDuel at 2.7. I would be starting him in most of my lineups on both GPP and cash. Even with the slower pace of play, I expect Chelsea to score at least once and for Hazard to be involved.

Pogba is a great option in midfield for Saturday. Since Mourinho left he has averaged 42.3 FP per game. While Brighton’s defensive line has been impressive so far this season, I expect Manchester United’s quality to break them down, and expect an assist or goal from Pogba and at least 3x value.

Salah is a more difficult choice for me. While he has a projected value of 2.1 X it is difficult to justify the $12,000 salary. I expect him to reach 2 X at the very least, and the upside is 4 X, I think Pogba is a better choice in GPP plays.

Allison is a GK to consider starting and I expect him to be started in most GPP and Cash lineups on Saturday. While his salary is high for a keeper, Liverpool has only conceded two goals against teams out of the top 6 so far this season. It is almost a lock that you will get the +10 for a clean sheet here and the +7 for the win, covering his FPP. Hope for a few saves to raise that up to somewhere above 20.

Four Forwards To Fade

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 1.8 X
Roberto Firmino 1.5 X
Romelu Lukaku 1.3X
Marcus Rashford 1.3 X

There isn’t a whole lot of value in the high salary forwards this week. Both Hazard and Salah offer higher value in the MID slot. With both Callum Wilson and Arnautavic out, Ayoze Pérez, Solomón Rondón, and Troy Deeney offer the best value as they play against weaker opponents.

In all fixtures where top six teams have played against one another this season, I have been hesitant to play forwards. Arsenal and Chelsea are separated by six points and I would expect a slow start to the fixture. Hazard has the most value in this game in the MID slot, but I’ll be playing some lineups with Willian as well.

Rashford and Firmino are pretty simple, both are expensive and outside of the top five in scoring and assists this season. Trust me I seriously tried to make a GPP lineup with Firmino, but at 13000 it was impossible without starting a 6000 FWD in the other slot to make up for the cap hit.

Value Plays

Federico Fernandez 2.7 X
Luka Milivojevic 2.5 X
Nathan Ake 2.4 X
Gylfi Sigurdsson 2.3 X
Felipe Anderson 2.3 X
Nacho Monreal 2.3 X
Ander Herrera 2.0 X
Jordan Pickford 1.8X
