Fantasy Baseball McCloy’s Stream Team

on

Slowly getting back to where Stream Team expectation are set, the team improved upon the past couple of dud weeks.  Though still not to standards in my eyes, its  progress nonetheless.  The Stream Team provides you with 7 starts this week.  Good Luck

Two Start Streamers-
Jake Odorizzi (TB)- MON vs MIL  SUN vs LAA (ESPN-19%, Yahoo-34%)
Odorizzi has pitched very well as of late. In his last 8 starts he has given up 3 or fewer runs in all of them going 4-1 with a 2.38 over that span. Combine that with his 53 K’s, it’s no wonder the Rays have been so hot as of late. Odorizzi does get a couple first place teams but both games are at Tropicana Field where he has thrived this season with a 2.73 ERA. Look for 2 quality starts out of Jake.

One Start Streamers
 Tsuyoshi Wada (CHC)Tsuyoshi Wada (CHC)-MON vs COL (ESPN-.4%, Yahoo-2%)
Wada put up a dud in his 2nd major league start against the Padres last week. This week he gets the Rockies at home. The Rockies have hit 74 points lower away from Coors Field and have lost 7 of their last 10 games. Plus, I’m going to the game, he has to do well so the Cubs win, right?

Joe Kelly (STL) WED @ SD (ESPN-6%, Yahoo-19%)
Kelly has made 3 starts since returning from the DL and he has put up 1 good outing and 2 duds. Both duds were on the road as is this start but lucky for Kelly, he gets the Padres in pitcher friendly Petco Park. Padres are not only the worst hitting team at home (.219), they happen to be the worst hitting team in all of baseball with a .218 batting average. Look for Kelly to pick up a quality start with some good numbers.

Danny Duffy (KC) WED vs MIN (ESPN-23%, Yahoo-38%)
Duffy comes into this game with quality starts in 7 of his last 10 starts. His ERA in July is 2.10. He hasn’t produced in the win column, mainly because of lack of run support, Royals have scored 4 runs total in his 4 July starts. He faced the Twins on June 30th and allowed only 4 hits and 1 ER in a win. Look for Duffy to pick up his first win in July, as long as he can get the run support.

Marcus Stroman (TOR)Marcus Stroman (TOR) SUN @ HOU (ESPN-26%, Yahoo-41%)
The rookie from Toronto has had a great July with a 1.82 ERA and .89 WHIP in 4 starts. Add in a 23/6 K/BB ratio and you are looking at a stud in the making. He gets the lowly Astros who lead the majors in strikeouts with 472. Stroman should rack up a good amount in Houston and come away with a quality start.

Jose Quintana (CWS) SUN vs MIN (ESPN-69%, Yahoo-60%)
How Jose Quintana can still make the cutoff to be on this list is beyond me.  His record of 5-7 doesn’t reflect how well he has pitched as of late. He has 6 quality starts in his last 7 games with a 1.70 ERA over that span. He has punched out 49 over those last 7 starts and will look to have another solid game against the Twins who he held to 6 hits and 2 ER over 7 innings in a start in June.  With one more decent outing,  his ownership level will be above the Stream Team limit.

MAY THE STREAMS FOREVER BE IN YOUR FAVOR.

The team put up better numbers compared to the last couple weeks, but still not up to par. The research was really focused on getting you quality starts with some counting numbers to go along so that you may stay ahead of your competition or catch up if needed.
