Fantasy Baseball McCloy’s Stream Team: Week 3

on

After a great start to the season for McCloy’s Stream Team, we hit a little bump in the road week 2. Two starts by Jarred Cosart and Jason Hammel both resulted in at least four earned runs. This is not what the Stream Team strives for and as we move into week 3, we look forward to bringing you better results.

Stream Team

Let’s get to the Stream Team this week, as I start with an up and coming pitcher out of Cincinnati who made an incredible play this past week.

Two Start Streamers

Anthony Desclafini-CIN-Mon @ MIL, Sat vs CHC (ESPN-17%, Yahoo-21%)
Desclafini has allowed only two earned runs on seven hits in 13 innings to start 2015. He gets the Brewers on the road who are in an offensive flux right now and will be without Carlos Gomez. He then gets the Chicago Cubs at home who he just pitched seven shutout innings against.  His slider has been dominant and the Cubs like to strike out. Stream with confidence.

That incredible play. See the Tweet below.

One Start Streamers

Dan Haren-MIA-Mon @ PHI (ESPN-4%, Yahoo-12%)

Haren is coming off of two quality starts to open the season, both constituting in victories. He gets the lowly hitting Phillies who have managed to have the third lowest BA (.213) as of Sunday. With the Marlins offense starting to find its gear, Haren can feel confident attacking Philly’s poor offense, stream away.

Taijuan Walker-SEA-Tue vs HOU (ESPN-36%, Yahoo-54%)
Walker went to the doctor for his poor start and his prescription was the Houston Astros. The Astros have scored the second fewest runs in MLB and lead all of baseball in strikeouts. This should help Walker get back on stride. Enjoy his great outing for your team.

Jason Vargas-KC-Tue vs MIN (ESPN-2%, Yahoo-5%)
Vargas will be looking for redemption against the same Twins who knocked him out in the third inning this past week after giving up 10 hits and four earned runs. This is just a gut feel as I think that Vargas will perform better at Kauffman Stadium. Follow my gut if you wish.

Nathan Eovaldi-NYY-Sun vs NYM (ESPN-17%, Yahoo-21%)
Eovaldi has not given up more than three earned runs in his two starts but has not gotten out of the 6th inning. He is coming off a nine strikeout performance in fice innings against the Orioles. Look for him to get a quality start against the Mets at Yankee Stadium.

Recap and Last Weeks Results

These are six streaming starts to look out for. The Stream Team looks to rebound after a sub par week two. Here are the results of Week 2, the week started off decently and fell flat on our face at the end of the week. Don’t lose the confidence in the Stream Team, we will guide you to greener pastures!
