Fantasy NASCAR: Texas

To continue with the most obvious and boring pick to win a NASCAR race I think Jimmie Johnson is the pick to win this weekend in Texas. Johnson has an average finish of 2.5 over the last 4 races at Texas, all top 10’s. Included in those last four races are 3 top 5 finishes and 2 wins. After a disappointing second place finish at Martinsville, look for Johnson to be hungry for a win in Texas.

Brad Keselowski has an average finish of 5.6 over the last 3 races at Texas. With 3 top 100’s including a second place, Keselowski should fare well this weekend.

Two drivers that have an almost identical record the last four races at Texas are Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle. Both have a win, another top 5, and two more top 13’s. I expect both Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle to be in the top 10 at the end of the race.

I really wanted to pick Carl Edwards with my next pick as Texas is the kind of track that Edwards usually thrives on. Edwards has finished 37th, 3rd, 16th, and 8th over his last four races at Texas. Not bad at all, but I don’t see the same dominance at Texas as other mile and a half tracks.

loganoI feel like a driver that has a real chance to win this weekend is Joey Logano. Logano has been driving well and had good cars all season long. His last 3 races at Texas, Logano has finished 3rd, 5th, and 11th. I feel like the time is right for Logano.

  1. Jimmie Johnson
  2. Brad Keselowski
  3. Joey Logano
  4. Kyle Busch
  5. Greg Biffle

  1. Austin Dillon
