MLB DFS 6-20-18

Welcome to our initial MLB DFS post, written by @Raw_DFS & @Toro_DFS.  Tomorrow morning, we will highlight the best/worst of today's projections, as well as provide you with the daily risers and fallers as we update the projections throughout the day.

Around 4 pm EST, we will add the Key Pitchers and Hitters to the post to give you time to come back and read it before lineups lock!

MLB DFS 6-20-18 FanDuel Main Slate Rundown

Key Pitchers

Charlie Morton, Houston Astros - $10000

Rays are projected the lowest runs on the slate, meanwhile, Houston is top 5. This will give Morton great chance at a Win and a Quality Start, while also racking up several Ks in this matchup. Morton is our number one pitcher on the slate. Control has been a tad shaky recently, walking 10 in his last two starts. CJ Cron and Matt Duffy are sitting today.

Vegas projected runs: 2.93

Grade: A- (CASH & GPP)

Gio Gonzalez, Washington Nationals - $9200

Gio is in a very similar spot as Morton, as his team is a very strong favorite to win the game. However, Gio is in high-risk high reward spot today. He has good chance to rack up some Ks and is a solid contrarian option in GPP today.

Baltimore will have nine righties in their lineup which is a problem. Since 2016 Gio has given up 44 HRs to right-handed hitters, compared to only three to lefties.

Vegas projected runs: 3.92

Grade: C (GPP)

David Price, Boston Red Sox - $8600

David Price has been pitching great lately, recording a QS in his six recent starts. He faces the Twins today who have not been to great vs left-handed pitching, recording a .356 slugging and .674 OPS on the year vs southpaws.Additionally, the twins should roll out a lineup with several lefties, which David Price destroys with a .182 Average and .538 OPS.

Something to note, Vegas has the twins scoring a decent number of runs today.

Vegas projected runs: 4.17

Grade: B+ (GPP & Cash)

Brent Suter, Milwaukee Brewers - $6800

Suter faces the Pirates who have the second least projected runs on the slate. Add the fact that Polanco, Dickerson, Bell and Cervelli are all sitting today, he becomes an even better play.

Vegas really likes him today as he has been very consistent all year. However, his upside is minimal as he has failed to record over 40 points all year. The nice thing if you use him is he will allow you to spend big on the monster stacks on the slate.

Vegas projected runs: 3.69

Grade: C+ (GPP & Cash)

Jonathon Loaisiga, New York Yankees - $6200

He is coming off coming off a great debut vs the Rays where had a lot of swings and misses and that is what we chase for in DFS.

In the minors this year, he holds a 3.00 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, with a 58:4 K/9.

The Yankees are a strong favorite to win this game as the Mariners are projected to score the fifth least runs today. Of course, as this is only his second start in the bigs, so there is a bit of risk. Also, he only went five innings last start which is another thing to monitor.

Overall, I would get some shares in GPP as this slate has some monster stacks you will be able to pay up for if you go cheap at SP.

Vegas projected runs: 4.03

Grade: B- (GPP)

Key Hitters

Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals - $3100

First base isn’t too strong tonight, but I am focusing on using Salvy Perez in most of my lineups. He is only $3.1k and batting 3rd in a Kansas City lineup that is implied 4.83 runs. The Royals should have no problem roughing up Bibens-Dirkx who holds an awful .403 wOBA against right-handed batters in 2018.

Whit Merrifield, Kansas City Royals - $3200

The Royals are one of my favorite stacks tonight because of their prices. Merrifield is just $3.2k in the same matchup I talked about above. I think tonight you simply stack KC and move on especially in 50/50. Make sure to keep your eyes out for Rosell Herrera for $2.3k.

Charlie Blackmon, Colorado Rockies - $4400

Chuck Nasty is in a smash spot tonight @ home in Coors facing Seth Lugo. To be short Blackmon is simply too cheap for this matchup. Blackmon is my favorite play on the whole slate and will be in most, if not all of my lineups.

Michael Conforto, New York Mets - $3700

Conforto is in a similar spot to Blackmon, both being in Coors and at a discounted price. If Conforto was in form right now his price would probably be closer to 5k. He will be going up against an awful Chad Bettis who holds a career 5.5 ERA at home.

Mike Moustakas, Kansas City Royals - $3700

By now I think you know how much I like the Royals, and it doesn’t stop here with Mous. Mous crushes RHP holding a projected ISO of .237 and a wOBA of .364. Mous is my HR call of the day and will easily be the highest owned 3B.

Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals - $4100

This game may have weather concerns but if you are looking for a contrarian option I really like Bryce Harper. Bryce Harper is an absolute superstar, but is priced like he’s Shin Soo-Choo. He is facing Andrew Cashner and I think we all know how good Andrew Cashner is. Simply put, Harp is way way way too cheap.

Favorite Stacks

Kansas City Royals - Easily the best stack value wise. Great stack in cash games.

New York Mets - The Mets are in a crispy match-up in Coors and I see them exploding.

Washington Nationals - The Nats are our sleeper stack. They could easily score 10 off Cashner.

Boston Red Sox - The big 3 for Boston is looking scary as usual. Don’t be afraid to stack them.

Honorable Mentions

3B - David Freese - $2.1k

1B - Gary Sanchez $3.5

2B - Rosell Herrera - $2.3k

1B - Eric Thames - $3.8k

OF - Joey Gallo - $3.3k

OF - Brandon Nimmo - $4.3k

OF - Juan Soto - $3.8k

SS - Didi Gregorius - $4.0k

OF – Kevin Kiermaier - $2k
