NBA DFS 1-22-21 DraftKings Picks

Welcome to the NBA DFS 1-22-21 DraftKings picks article!

The Wizards-Bucks and Grizzlies-Trail Blazers games have been postponed due to COVID contact tracing.

That leaves us with a whopping 11 games on tonight's main slate.

Making the right picks will be crucial tonight with so many games to choose from.

These are the players I don't mind paying up for.

11 Game Slate

Bulls @ Hornets
Rockets @ Pistons
Magic @ Pacers
Nets @ Cavaliers
Celtics @ 76ers
Heat @ Raptors
Hawks @ Timberwolves
Mavericks @ Spurs
Thunder @ Clippers
Nuggets @ Suns
Knicks @ Kings

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks ($9,600)

Ice Trae went off Wednesday night against the Pistons as he dropped 38 points including the dagger to seal the win. The All-Star guard is averaging about 28 points per game to go along with six rebounds and 11 assists over the past 3 games.

Welcome the Timberwolves' defense which is giving up about 116.2 ppg, 4th worst in the NBA.

He scored 55 DK points playing 32 minutes in a blowout when the two teams faced off Monday night. I don't expect this atrocious defense to stop Young's hot streak.

Victor Oladipo, Houston Rockets, ($8,000)

The Rockets haven't been talked about much since the James Harden trade but Oladipo has shown fans promise.

The two-time All-Star has scored at least 44 DK points in the two games he's been with Houston. I like Oladipo in this game because of his usage, which is the most in the NBA at 39.9%.

Dipo has attempted 20+ shots in both games he has suited up for the Rockets. With news that Christian Wood will be out tonight, look for him to carry the offense.

Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors, ($7,900)

Lowry is never the sexy pick but the All-Star guard is always consistent. With the Heat expected to be shorthanded again due to injuries and COVID-19 protocol, Lowry is a safe pick.

The veteran averages about 36 minutes per game which is 4th in the NBA, and the news of teammate Pascal Siakam missing practice yesterday makes him even more appealing.

He's averaging about 41 DK points over the past four games and scored 34.5 DK points against the Heat on Wednesday night while shooting 2-12.

I don't expect another shooting slump as that was his worst shooting performance of the season.

Julius Randle, New York Knicks, ($9,100)

The Knicks started off to a great start to the season and a big reason was because of Julius Randle. The former lottery draft pick is having a career year in all major statistical categories.

Randle should look to continue on his breakout year against the Kings as they currently allow the most points in the paint in the NBA.

Although the Knicks play at the slowest pace in the league, I expect this game to be faster than normal because of the Kings poor defense and fast pace.

He is currently averaging about 48 DK points per game this year, making this pick a must play.

Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers, ($9,700)

Kawhi has been on a hot streak lately, averaging about 47 DK points per game over the past 5 games.

The Thunder have been playing at the third-fastest pace over the past three games which should work in Kawhi's favor.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kawhi scored at least 30 points this game, as he already has accomplished this feat three times already this season.

The Thunder are currently giving up about 50 DK points per game to the forward position.

Gordon Hayward, Charlotte Hornets, ($7,700)

While LaMelo Ball has been getting all of the attention when it comes to the Hornets, it's actually been Hayward who has been the best player on the team so far.

The former All-Star has surprised many this season, averaging about 22 points per game which is a career-high.

With his usage rate being the highest it has been since the 2016 season, I see Hayward as a sleeper pick against a terrible Bulls defense.
