This morning news broke that Anthony Davis has requested the New Orleans Pelicans trade him to a contender. Davis was drafted with the #1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. The front-runners to acquire him are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. Both teams have the assets required to complete a trade for the Superstar.
The current rumor floating around on the internet is the Pelicans only consider a deal with the Lakers that starts with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac and a 1st round pick. Pretty similar to those rumors swirling around Kawhi Leonard before the San Antonio Spurs traded him to the Toronto Raptors for DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl.
Rumors and ridiculous trade scenarios will fill the airwaves and TV talk shows until the trigger is actually pulled. Especially when it means Anthony Davis and LeBron James would be teammates!
For now, let's focus our attention on tonight's five-game main slate.
The Indiana Pacers lost their first game without Victor Oladipo to the Memphis Grizzlies - 106-103. Memphis had lost eight games in a row before that win. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team with 14 shot attempts and 21 points, while Aaron Holiday came off the bench and took 11 shots, making just three of them and scored seven points. Cory Joseph did not see a minutes boost, playing his usual 25 minutes. Tyreke Evans has been ruled out for the Pacers.
Kyrie Irving has been ruled out for the Celtics.
Draymond Green has been ruled out for the Warriors.
Jamal Murray has been ruled out for the Nuggets.
Danilo Gallinari has been ruled out for the Clippers.
JaMychal Green is a game time decision for the Grizzlies.
Joe Harris is questionable for the Nets.
