NBA DFS 10-19-21 Yahoo Picks: Opening Night

on

Welcome to the NBA DFS 10-19-21 Yahoo Picks – Opening Night article.

What is happening everyone, My name is Cody and I am excited about writing about Yahoo NBA DFS  for Fantasy Six Pack this season.

The contests are wild on Yahoo and stand out compared to Draftkings or Fanduel!  Let’s dig in for the opening night slate breaking down each position!

We have a two-game slate to start the season with the reigning World Champions, the Milwaukee Bucks (-1), hosting the Brooklyn Nets. The game has a 235 over/under.

The other game on Opening Night features the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers (-3.5) at the Staples Center. Vegas has the over/under set at 227 here.

Point Guard – James Harden, Nets, $52

This point guard position is stacked so we will have to really pick the clear-cut top option! My favorite pick for the point guard position is James Harden. I understand he is the top-priced option but with Kyrie Irving unvaccinated, the usage rate shifts over to Harden and Kevin Durant.

I think more people will roster Steph Curry ($49) and Russell Westbrook ($47) to save a few bucks. This should lead to James Harden having the lowest ownership of the three point guards. That is why Harden is my pick on this two-game slate.

Other options: Stephen Curry (GS, $49) and Jrue Holiday (MIL, $31)

Shooting Guard – Jordan Poole, Warriors, $11

The shooting guard position is shallow compared to the point guard position, to say the least. Yahoo simply messed up Jordan Poole’s price tag, after seeing how amazing he has done this preseason. He has seen 22 minutes per game while having the stat line of 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Simply put, the sixth man for the Warriors is doing great things this preseason and I am loving the expected value we see in Poole.

Other options: Cameron Thomas (BKN, $10), Grayson Allen (MIL, $10)

Shooting Forward – Pat Connaughton, Bucks, $12

My pick for shooting forward may seem rather interesting but hear me out, it is the price tag and minutes that win me over. We have Wiggins, Otto Porter Jr, Middleton, and Harris all in this position which you may think I am crazy for picking Connaughton. The Bucks are without Donte DiVincenzo who has no timetable for his return. Without DiVincenzo, Connaughton saw 22 minutes per game which was more than Bryn Forbes, P.J. Tucker, and Jeff Teague last season. The price tag is an amazing value in order to spend up at other positions and I love the guaranteed minutes we are expecting out of him.

Power Forward – Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks, $51

Another tough position but I am going with Giannis here. I still want to see how Lebron plays with Westbrook and Davis all together as an trio. The Nets defense is less than subpar defense. We have seen this in the regular season and the playoffs last year. Plain and simple, start Giannis who should smash this defense, proving his MVP stardom early. I could ramble on and on about the phenom but we will keep this short!

Other options: Kevin Durant (BKN, $46), Blake Griffin (BKN, $15)

Center – Paul Millsap, Nets, $10

Soft pricing is what is making me stare at Paul Millsap. He has looked good and seems to have a solid role already on this Nets team. In the two preseason games he played, he saw 19 minutes a game and clipping 8 points per game and three assists per game. I understand these numbers are not the best but at this position, I like what I see at a value price tag (min salary) where I don’t trust LaMarcus Aldridge.

Other options: Dwight Howard (LAL, $10), Anthony Davis (LAL, $42)

Cheers to Opening Night in the NBA! Catch everyone on next week’s slate!
