NBA DFS Yahoo Breakdown

Cody Cook, aka @DProdiogy, here breaking down the NBA DFS 2-2-23 Yahoo Breakdown of the seven-game NBA slate!

To kick off the month of February, we have the legend of Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers at the Indiana Pacers. The Los Angeles Lakers are 1.5-point favorites with a huge over/under at 237 points.

The Memphis Grizzles are trying to soak up as many wins as they can after being on a five-game losing skid and facing off against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Memphis Grizzles are five-point favorites heading to Cleveland.

The scorching-hot Miami Heat are only 1.5-point favorites heading to Madison Square Garden to play the New York Knicks with a super low over/under at 213 points.

Charlotte Hornets have had a disappointing season so far; now they are playing the Chicago Bulls who are 6.5-point favorites. The over/under is coming in as the highest on the slate at 236 points.

Luka Doncic leads the Dallas Mavericks as 4.5-point favorites in a division game against the New Orleans Pelicans in a low over/under at 226 points.

An entertaining game with the Golden State Warriors at the Denver Nuggets with Nikola Jokic coming off a triple-double performance. The Denver Nuggets are 11.5-point favorites as the Golden State Warriors starters are likely resting according to Steve Kerr.

Our late-night hammer is the Los Angeles Clippers against the Milwaukee Bucks at home as 4.5-point favorites. The hammer is in the middle of the range coming in at 230 points.

Our injury report has Christian Wood, Bobby Portis, Steven Adams, and Mitchell Robinson listed as out. With those four players highlighted players as non-options, let's look at the rest of the slate.

NBA DFS 2-2-23 Yahoo Breakdown

Point Guard - LaMelo Ball, $40, Charlotte Hornets

Starting off with LaMelo Ball fresh off a massive triple-double performance against the Milwaukee Bucks. In Charlotte, the phenom is producing in many ways, facilitating the offense in many ways. The price tag is justified, and my favorite superstar is on the slate. Ball was two assists away from a triple-double the last time the team played the Chicago Bulls on 1-26-23. I am expecting big things from the star in Charlotte and don't let the price tag scare you!

Other Options-Luka Doncic and Kyle Lowry

Shooting Guard - Grayson Allen, $14, Milwaukee Bucks

The shooting guard position doesn't have the most enticing options on the slate. It's at this position that we are going to find value, which is why I'm a fan of the former bad boy from Duke. The average number of minutes the enforcer on the Milwaukee Bucks plays is hovering around 30 a night. As long as the three-point shooter can swish his shot behind the arc, he will produce fantasy points at a high clip.

Other Options-Brandon Ingram and Caris Levert

Small Forward - Troy Brown Junior, $11, Los Angeles Lakers

This year has been interesting for Brown trying to fit in with the Los Angeles Lakers. At the beginning of the season, the role was inconsistent, but more recently the minutes have hovered around 26 minutes. All around, fantasy production on his stat sheet has been excellent the past two games. Brown grabbed 17 rebounds in one game...I repeat 17 rebounds!

Other Options-Buddy Hield and Khris Middleton

Power Forward - Evan Mobley, $31, Cleveland Cavaliers

This matchup is amazing for the big man in Cleveland with Steven Adams out on the Memphis Grizzles. Mobley can work his way into the paint and he is seeing all the minutes he can handle. The last time Mobley didn't score over 30 fantasy points was on 1-16-23. This spot is sure to deliver a monster performance. The price tag of $31 on Yahoo for Mobley will shoot up after this game so take advantage of it while you can!

Other Options-Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins

Center - Jonas Valanciunas, $20, New Orleans Pelicans

The Lithuanian Lightning season has been full of highs and lows on the basketball court. Playing against Dwight Powell on the Dallas Mavericks is a matchup that can be taken advantage of by the veteran. Despite only playing 20 minutes last week, I expect at least 25 minutes in a prime spot. Let's just hope Valanciunas doesn't throw any elbows again and get ejected!

Other Options-Mason Plumlee and Brook Lopez
